A few months ago I made a blog post asking folks whether the future of the Hive blockchain is SocialFi or business back end.
You can check it out here.
And, I know, they are not mutually exclusive. My point was to generate a bit of discussion on how some of us might want to focus on one use case, while another group of users focus on bringing individuals.
I did a search today for a "Hive accepted here" image, and about three images came up.
I followed up with another search: Bitcoin accepted here. Guess how many images came up:
Bazillions.
I've heard it said many ways..
Let's use Bitcoin as a liquidity layer
Let's piggy back on Bitcoin
Let's use Bitcoin as a Trojan horse
So I'd like to bring up the idea again: Don't you think there's an opportunity to harness the liquidity and the brand recognition of Bitcoin, while using the Hive blockchain on the back end?
Bitcoin payments on mobile
I make videos of myself paying Bitcoin Lightning invoices at shops. I start by telling people I'm going to pay at a place that accepts Bitcoin and then proceed to use my V4Vapp.

I do this because people recognize the word Bitcoin and also I understand the blockchain and apps enough to where I can make it happen and look easy, but the truth is there a few steps you need to take and there is definitely a learning curve. For this to really take off, it has to be absolutely dummy proof.
Say, for example, further development of the VSC network leads to a user-friendly payment terminal on a mobile device that expresses all value in local currency or US Dollars, but uses the Hive Blockchain on the backend.
The customer sees a QR with the price in USD
this one is for $1.00
They scan it, it does all the magic in the back end.
They each get a confirmation screen on their device when the transaction goes through, and both parties go about their business.
It should be THAT easy for the user.
We don't have to convince people to use another coin on another network, when they can just use the good ol' name Bitcoin. The most liquid, sovereign digital asset remains the king of liquidity (I guess you could say it goes back to being digital gold) and uses the amazing Hive network to move it around without fees and without wait.
Hive has many narratives, and this one here:
The fast and feeless way of sending and receiving Bitcoin
I think is a huge one.
What do you think?
