The launch of TCY on May 5th marked a turning point for Thorchain — transforming debt into a yield-generating asset and sending a clear message to the market: this protocol is alive, evolving, and executing. The price surge that followed was dramatic, pushing RUNE above the $2 mark and catching even the most optimistic community members by surprise.
But as we can see from the chart, the excitement was short-lived. After peaking mid-May, RUNE has slowly pulled back and now trades in the $1.70–$1.80 range. So where do we go from here?
Fundamentally, the outlook remains strong. TCY is proving successful, the protocol is running smoothly, and the roadmap is loaded: the Ruji app layer is coming, and support for new chains is just around the corner. These developments could unlock new user bases, utility, and revenue flows. But markets are often impatient, and it’s unclear whether this momentum will reflect in the price in the short term.
