With the loss of physical interaction with everyone due to the ongoing lockdowns. Folks across the globe especially in the U.S. have these programs wherein if you will be talking to the other person you will be paid by the hours you render.
This is not new anymore as there are some phone lines that were designated for such need. May it be on a casual talk, companionship, or even some juicy/flirtatious talks there is something available. Back when I was a specialist with the billing for a mobile company if it isn’t an overseas call overage. One of the most disputed charges is the phone calls for companies that offer these services and because we do not have such proof aside from the numbers registered in the system more often than not those disputes are granted to the customer asap. Plus the fact that if we will not honor their request, they will get back at us on the survey, mind you once you have a 0 score all eyes are on you as if you did wrong. Might as well give it to them to avoid any problems.
Now as we get into a more advanced digital age, phone calls are not a thing anymore but rather we use the internet to get in touch with people.
According to the data provided by bankmycell.com 80.69% of the people in the world have smartphones today. No wonder why such apps and websites now cater services wherein you will be paid by chatting or talking to other people.
When I was younger, I find it difficult to understand that there are people who are really paying for this kind of service. I mean, it is easy to talk to other people right?
That is what I thought too until I grow old, and started to lose the connections that I had with my old pals. I understood too that opening up most of the time to a person whom you know can be hurtful too. In one of the classes that I attended to the professor told us that at times we find it liberating to talk to a stranger rather than to our friends simply because we know that strangers don’t hold any value to us. But if a friend reacts we find ourselves ashamed and sensitive because we value their opinion as a person.
Should I Consider Applying to These Type of Jobs?
The pay is lucrative it averages from $5.00 or more per hour but for me, I’d rather do my research create and curate a blog post and post it in Hive. I am not also into messaging other people if you have read my post I shared that I have some issues on reaching out to people, that I am not the type of person who responds to messages most of the time because I find it draining. Thus this kind of job will not fit me.
I would rather build a true relationship with the people rather than have a platonic conversation with someone. This is also the reason why I am using Hive, as I can be true to myself, rant, and ramble but I found friends here. I can’t say that it is life long though but friends that I can be free to talk to anytime.
I can still suggest this type of job to people especially if they are not emotionally invested in others. If they can manage their sanity well as for sure, there are some people who are depressed that need people to listen to them while they are down.
Before joining such programs do due diligence in researching. Make sure to read all of the terms and conditions ( which I think isn’t read at all and we just hit the agree button) to avoid any issues in the future. Some of these programs are not usually available in the Philippines btw so if you are interested our country isn’t accepted.
