Gestern hat Elon Musk mit einem überraschenden Tweet die Krypto-Community geschockt und verärgert.
In einem überraschenden Statement "Tesla & Bitcoin" kündigt Elon Musk an, die eben erst von Tesla eingeführte Zahlungsoption mit Bitcoin wieder zu entfernen. Als Grund wird der steigende Strombedarf, im Besonderen von fossilen Brennstoffen (Kohlekraft), von Bitcoin-Transaktionen genannt.
Es stimmt, dass Bitcoin viel Energie verbraucht, wenn der Preis und die Mining-Leistung steigen.
Der Energieverbrauch ist aber unabhängig von der Transaktionsanzahl und Bitcoin verwendet auch hauptsächlich erneuerbare Energie bzw. einen Energiemix wie zum Beispiel auch Elektroautos von Tesla, die ebenfalls zu einem gewissen Anteil mit Strom aus Kohlekraft getankt werden.
Dass Strom zum Teil auch aus fossilen Brennstoffen erzeugt wird, ist lange bekannt und ist nicht die Schuld von Bitcoin, sondern ein generelles Problem der E-Wirtschaft. Das müsste Musk eigentlich wissen, zumal die Problematik in der Community schon seit Jahren diskutiert wird.
Was könnten also die wahren Gründe für die plötzliche Meinungsänderung von Elon Musk sein.
#1 Persönlichkeitsstruktur von Elon Musk (Flip-Flopper)
Musk gilt als unberechenbar und ändert fast täglich seine Meinung in Bezug auf Kryptowährungen. Er hat in den letzten Monaten mit kryptischen und widersprüchlichen Tweets zunächst Bitcoin gepumpt und dann Dogecoin entdeckt, das er wie besessen in Tweets shillt, um es gleich im nächsten Moment wieder als "Abzocke" fallenzulassen. Besonders konsistent und seriös ist das nicht.
#2 Angst um das umweltfreundliche Image von Tesla
Mainstream-Medien verwenden schon seit längerem den Energieverbrauch als Totschlagargument gegen Bitcoin, ohne sich damit näher auseinanderzusetzen. Ein möglicher Grund für die 180-Grad-Wende könnte sein, dass Tesla sein sauberes Image nicht gefährden möchte.
#3 Druck von Shareholdern
Möglich ist auch Druck von Seiten der Shareholder, denen der Vorstoß von Tesla in Sachen Bitcoin womöglich zu weit gegangen ist.
#4 Kursmanipulation
Eine weitere Theorie ist, dass Elon Musk mit seinen launischen Tweets nicht nur gerne trollt, sondern schlicht und einfach den Kurs manipulieren möchte, um sich selber und seine Firma zu bereichern. Bei Aktien könnte er schnell von der SEC Probleme bekommen, bei den etwas weniger regulierten Kryptowährungen kommt er damit aber noch durch.
#5 Verschwörungstheorie USA / China
Und zuletzt gibt es auch einige Verschwörungstheorien zu der plötzlichen Kehrtwende. Vermutet wird Druck von Seiten der USA oder sogar China, Zahlungen mit Bitcoin einzustellen, um weiter E-Autos in den USA und China verkaufen zu dürfen. Das Umweltargument ist nur Mittel zum Zweck.
Fazit
Was denkt ihr, ist der wahre Grund für den seltsamen Tweet von Elon Musk? Es könnte eine Kombination aus den obigen Gründen, aber vor allem der Persönlichkeitsstruktur von Elon Musk geschuldet sein.

Yesterday, Elon Musk shocked and upset the crypto community with a surprising flip-flopping tweet.
In a controversial statement called Tesla & Bitcoin, Elon Musk announces to remove the payment option with Bitcoin again, which was just introduced by Tesla in March 2021. The reason given is the increasing demand for electricity, specifically fossil fuels (coal power), for Bitcoin transactions.
It is true that Bitcoin consumes a lot of energy when the price and mining power increase.
However, its energy consumption is independent of the number of transactions, and Bitcoin also uses mainly renewable energy or an energy mix, such as Tesla's electric cars, which are also fueled to a certain extent with electricity from coal power.
The fact that electricity is also partly generated from fossil fuels has been known for a long time and is not Bitcoin's fault, but a general problem of the energy business. Musk should actually know this, especially since the problem has been discussed in the community for years.
So what could be the real reasons for Elon Musk's sudden change of mind.
#1 Elon Musk's personality structure (Flip-Flopper)
Musk is considered unpredictable and changes his mind almost daily regarding cryptocurrencies. He has spent the last few months first pumping Bitcoin with cryptic and contradictory tweets, and then discovering Dogecoin, which he shills obsessively in tweets, only to drop it as a "hustle" (rip-off) the very next moment. It's not particularly consistent or reputable.
#2 Fear for Tesla's eco-friendly image
Mainstream media has been using energy consumption as a killer argument against Bitcoin for quite some time, without taking a closer look into it. One possible reason for the 180-degree turn could be that Tesla doesn't want to jeopardize its clean image of Tesla.
#3 Pressure from shareholders
Pressure from shareholders is also possible, for whom Tesla's foray into Bitcoin may have gone too far.
#4 Price manipulation
Another theory is that Elon Musk not only likes to troll with his moody tweets, but simply wants to manipulate the price to enrich himself and his company. With stocks, he could quickly get in trouble with the SEC, but with the somewhat less regulated cryptocurrencies, he can still get away with it.
#5 Conspiracy Theory U.S. / China
And lastly, there are also some conspiracy theories about the sudden change of mind. Suspected is pressure from the U.S. or even China to stop payments with Bitcoin in order to be allowed to continue selling EVs in the U.S. and China. The environmental argument is just a means to an end.
Conclusion
I think it could be a combination of the above reasons, but I would mainly attribute it to Elon Musk's personality structure.
