Recently I became interested in scrapping
I won't get into it but you can check out my introduction post if you are interested.
Where I live there is no scrapyard so I am just saving up my copper. It's only about ten or so pounds right now but I did take a load of scrap steel and aluminum to town this week and sold it for $91.68. I used that to buy a bunch of tools and a bench vise because I noticed that I was lacking a few key tools to be able to efficiently scrap. There are a lot more that I need so I will reinvest any money I earn from scrapping back into tools for scrapping.
Eventually I would like to upgrade my operation to be able to focus more on ewaste, as we don't have anywhere within hours of us for people to sell their ewaste and a lot of it ends up in the landfills.
I'm getting ahead of myself though.
I started a YouTube channel and started making videos about learning to scrap. Just for fun and my own documentation, but it really worked to keep me doing things creatively while also being able to deconstruct and try to do more financially productive things with my time.
@penderis saw my videos on YouTube and mentioned that I should create an account and post them to 3Speak. I had been active on Steemit many years ago but quit because of all the fighting and toxicity that was going on. I had also been encouraged by @amirtheawesome1 to join COM so I figured the planets were maybe aligning and created this account to start things off fresh and with positivity.
I have decided that anything I earn from here will be divided up 50/50 as seems to be customary. Of the 50% HBD I think I will put half into savings because how can you resist 20%? The other half will go towards getting some equipment for filming and trying to make some better videos. I get to steal my wife's tripod sometimes when she's not home but it would be helpful to have one of my own so I can keep it at the shop.
I could really stand to get a new computer for editing videos on as well. I have a great phone and have been doing everything on it but it's hard to keep filming with only 128 gigs of storage. I have to edit as I go to keep space available and it's hard to keep things straight.
Anyhow, I want to thank @forexbrokr for suggesting posting content on LeoFinance when it pertains to finances. I was under the impression that it was only for big crypto and markets, which I know nothing about. Maybe I will one day be able to purchase the equipment to turn this
into this
edit: I can't get the beneficiaries to work on @leofinance. Who would this get reported to? I tried to find a support link but I keep getting this when I try to go anywhere.
