Dear friends the topic raised by friend @galenkp this week in the #weekend-engagement are quite inspiring, but I decided for the following one:
Afraid
What are you afraid of and why? Write a post of 300+ words and use photos you personally took where possible.
Fear as such I believe is something that has been imposed on us by society in parenting, I have not seen a baby being afraid, babies are born with confidence, that confidence that they are going to be loved, fed and cared for. As they grow up the fears of the parents are learned, for example if the mother or father jump and scream at the sight of an insect is something that the baby will learn and begin to have the same way.
It is something like the mistake that many parents make when they say he is going to be fat like his father or he has offspring to suffer from stress and sugar because in the family we suffer from it.
I like many if not all have been afraid, but over the years those fears have disappeared and in other cases has changed.
I am not like most people who say they are afraid of dying, I think that death is the safest thing we have and that thanks to it we should value every day we live and try to enjoy it to the fullest.
When I was 25 years old more or less already graduated and working I saw how my friends began to form a family and I was single, time passed and that did not change that generated fear in me. Fear of being alone, of not being able to form a family and what made this fear grow was that it became more and more difficult to find someone because my circle of friends was closed and there were no options left, but I continued to live my life.
I was very demanding, perhaps I think I had a pretty fixed north in relation to tastes and even profession of the person I wanted to be my partner, perhaps a little macho my system but I did not want a woman engineer or doctor because I thought that her workday was just as demanding as mine and I did not see the space of time for her to devote to fulfill her role at home.
I always had the idea that this woman would be a teacher, she would work while the child or children were studying and the rest of the day could be dedicated to the home and parenting, while I worked full time and provided 100% of the household chores.
As time went by this woman came to me just as I wanted and a beautiful relationship began that led to a step forward, where we began to plan a future together, we got married and had a daughter..
We built our house, then we turned it into a home, we grew up learning and increasing our love and number of children, and this year we have been married for 10 years and our four children are growing up healthy and strong.
Today I can say that this fear is gone, well it disappeared a long time ago 😁, I consider myself a person without fear, I just fight day by day against adversity being a shield for my family, trying to change the things I can and the things I can't, I let them flow, it is not worth it to wear out living in fear, fear takes away the beauty of life because the things you least expect to enjoy are just one step away and that is to take the risk and do it even with fear but when you find yourself in that situation or adventure you realize that everything you had was in your mind and you were missing out on the experience.
So live, enjoy and don't be afraid.
