Hello to all my friends of this beautiful community, here I am again with you sharing another event of this weekend
A friend called me this Sunday morning at 7:00 am, when I saw the call I really got scared, a Sunday at this time Ana calling me? Something happened I said to myself! I answered startled and told her something happened friend? She answers, nothing bad just that my mom wants to eat some tripe, I got upset and I didn't know if I should answer her with a bad word or just hang up the phone and keep sleeping, but I restrained myself and just said, so what?
I need your help friend, my car is in the shop and I want to go early to the market to buy all the ingredients, can you take me please? I took a deep breath and I just said, well give me an hour to take a bath, have breakfast and I will pick you up... so I did it.
Mondondo is a very tasty and hearty soup made with many vegetables, chili bell pepper, paprika, onion, garlic, cilantro and beef tripe and feet, here in Venezuela we call the beef tripe "panza" and it must be washed very well with baking soda and lemon and chopped into squares.
After she was ready I went to pick her up and we went to the market to buy everything. I stayed in the car sleepy and still lazy (on Sundays I usually get up after 10:00am) hahaha.
The worst of all is that we had to visit several markets and the heat was super strong, where she bought the vegetables, the dressings were wilted, and they did not sell belly or leg of cattle, so I was touring the whole town until I finally buy everything, even jojotos, hahaha.
Between so many things, it was noon and Ana's mom called to see when we were going to arrive with everything to assemble the mondongo.
We arrived at Ana's mom's house, I helped my friend to get everything out of the car and her mom was a little upset because we took so long and she wanted to assemble her mondongo early because it takes a long time to cook and she had her family invited to eat.
Ana explained the whole odyssey we went through to be able to buy her everything she wrote down on the list so she wouldn't miss anything. Seeing the uncomfortable atmosphere, I decided to go home and even though they insisted me to stay I did not, Ana's mom told me, Tibi you are invited and I answered, thank you very much, let me know when you are ready and I will come (they did not let me sleep, I sweated like a pig in the car, and they also wanted me to peel vegetables, chop seasonings and wash cattle feet? Hahahahaha) Well, no!.
I went home, made myself comfortable and went to bed to watch movies, at 4pm Ana called me and said, it won't be long until the mondongo is ready, my friend, come on. So I took a bath, got dressed up and left relaxed and fresh.
When I arrived they were preparing the table to serve, some of the lady's sisters and nephews arrived.
They served the mondongo accompanied by an arepa for each of us. Thank goodness I went, it was really delicious and I had a long time without eating that dish so rich but at the same time quite heavy, so I respect it and do not eat it very often and do not eat it from anyone because it deserves a lot of cleaning and dedication.
After eating they offered us a black coffee, we went to the patio and there we tasted the coffee talking a little bit about everything and congratulated Mrs. Ana for the exquisite that the tripe was
I got sleepy, asked for permission and retired while the family stayed to share some more time.
I arrived back home, ready to continue watching TV, my weekend was over, I slept like a princess, hahaha.
It was worth the stress I went through, that soup turned out great and the best part was that I didn't have to cook.
That was all my dear friends, if next weekend I do something more dynamic do not doubt that I will tell you about it. A hug!!!
