We are back at it and now grinding is a thing!
It's always a pleasure to play and every time tons of new additions to the game.
First off let's put a out a little bug report, in the tutorial level after the warp take you upstairs if you go back down then the portal will not take you back up. I don't know if there's another way back up so I had to reload the page.
With this out of the way let's go into the new stuff and progression, the first levels start out great the train station has great vibes the level and sometimes I wish it was longer because with all it's layers it's really fun to explore and search for new paths. Greece is really good with it's two bosses changing things up from the station by being a level that goes from left to right and being more of a fighting stage then a platformer one(although there are some really nice treasure to find), this time I didn't try the other route cause I'm really late and didn't have much time.
The water level. I really digged this the introduction of sharks is great because it forces you to slow down if you rush through you'll get swarmed and die fast. A simple level that works great.
The art gallery is one of my favorites the music rock and it works a bit like the train station but with weirder stuff going on and enemies and traps all around. Good stuff especially visually.
The space gauntlet, here is where I found the most new intriguing ideas from the mushroom growing into platforms and the switches that open and close doors to the lowered gravity. I had the game over here and didn't keep going from this point so I'll hold any further thoughts till I play more. I want to make a more clear map in my mind.
The one thing though is that I really love that when you go into the space you have this bigger area where the gameplay get hard and has some really cool new additions in wich the player has to figure out new solution but there's a bit of charm lost from the crazy visual variety that has been found until the art gallery. Though take this with a grain of salt because I need to explore more to have a good idea of the pacing of this area(/spoilers I know it leads to the boss fight with the astroman but I don't know how the path changed since last time I reached him).
All in all this updates are really good and the game is in the best of its shape. One thing that is there but for now is not influencing the main gameplay is the skating mechanics(I'm an old THPS 2 fan and seeing something like that even pop around casually make me happy). I my self dosn't have a clear idea of were this would be taken( a glimpse would be that if you can keep a long chaing of grind/flips/manuals it can grant an invincibility to smash through enemy as long the chain is going) but let's see, for now it's a great platformer with many sidethings to find and collect and a really good scoring system.
Have a good weekend everybody!
