Last time I wrote about Corpse Explosion Death with BotW cards, and while all 3 of the BotW decks I’ve played so far has been nerfed either heavily or lightly, this time I’m playing with one that got a little buff!
Nature has almost always revolved around Wild creatures, but this set gave it 0 Wild but instead pushed the Amazon tribe. I’ve played with Amazons back when I was doing my Tribal Warfare series but they’re definitely came a long way since then, plus I tried to go Midrange with them when they should really just go Aggro. I theorycrafted a deck and got some help from my team Play2Win (https://play2wingu.com/) to build it using one of our available shiny Amazon decks.
While it doesn’t consistently deal 20+ damage in one turn like the Corpse Explosion deck, I was surprised I was able to do 21 damage in one turn thanks to Divya! Well, with a band of Amazons haha

Deck Link here. There’s actually an overabundance of Amazons now and there are some tough choices to be made. For example, I went with Amazon Conscript (Roar: +1 Health to another creature) instead of Nightleaf Warrior (Hidden for 1 turn) only because my team had the former in Diamond. I made some cuts and also threw in a few non-Amazons: Underbrush Boar to help gain control of the board early, and Blade of Whiteplain for draw, which Amazon decks desperately need.

I ended up playing 40 matches in Mythic with this deck, and had a resulting win rate of 57.5%, which was not bad at all! There are some deadly situations you can set up with Divya, but it’s not consistent due to his cost. For example, having a Canopy Sniper out plus a few Amazons then dropping Divya means you’re dealing 3 damage to a minion anytime an Amazon attacks! Fae Thornblade’s Ally effect will also do 3 damage, even to face! I used this to kill a Control Magic player. Finally, just like the screenshot at the beginning of this post, Divya can really accelerate face damage when you have the board.

This deck is even better against Hidden Deception than Wild Nature, because Canopy Sniper is insane in this matchup. However, there is no top end in this deck, and no board wide health buffs like there is for Wild, so it could be tough to survive decks with AOE spells. If you can’t keep a board, you lose, although this deck does have a few reactive options with Blitz and direct damage.

I’ve talked a lot about Divya, and while I do think he’s an auto-include in Amazon decks, I don’t think he’s the best domain legendary in this set (Chira probably takes the cake, and Gama is still better. Reios and Argus are decent too so hard to say). Fae Thornblade though is probably not be an auto-include, as there’s lots of Amazons vying for a spot in the deck. Beastfury Protégé I’m also not that big a fan of; if the Ally summons were Amazon then it would be a different story.
Poison Dart I think can be pretty strong in Control Nature, as previously Nature didn’t have much in the way of targeted removal. This is a pretty efficient one, as long as the target doesn’t have Protect/Ward/Armor. Finally, we have Great Eye’s Blessing. It seems like it might be able to keep an Aggro deck going, but you need to have board first, making it a win-more card. I also haven’t really seen it in use at all.
