The last of my seashell orders finally arrived, and I was able to start the final embellishment to complete my seashell tea light holder craft demo.
The idea was to use these purple-ish clam shells as a petal pattern so people could make a flower if they so chose. But the super glue we have is uncooperative stuff that seems to defy the laws of physics in order to make a mess.
I usually use super glue gel in crafts at home, so I had forgotten the propensity of liquid CA glue to get everywhere. Somehow, despite trying to hold shells by the edge and keep everything level and ensure glue would not flow toward my fingers, I now have bits of dried glue on my fingertips, and my flower pattern has been tugged out of perfect position. I also managed to glue the base shell to the paper I had in place to protect my workspace.
This craft will definitely be for adults only, because I don't want any parental complaints about kids and super glue. I will also need to add extra warnings in my instruction sheet about how nasty the stuff can be.
