In my last post I wrote about Career Success:What's Your Yardstick For Measuring Success (Pt. 1)and I made mention of some cogent points that should be put in consideration when measuring success in our various fields or careers. You may check my last post before going any further with this to read the beginning of the thread.
I will continue with the rest of the point I have to make in this post. So, pay close attention as you may have one or two points useful for you or for your colleagues at work or even your siblings.

It is important to define what success means to you. Does success mean the size of your paycheck? Does it mean how many zeros you have in your bank accounts or having the corner office? Is it the praises heaped on you when you accomplish a task in the office or the satisfaction you derive when you know you have assisted someone one way or the other in their career. We all define and measure our level of success differently, so it's up to you to decipher what success means to you. Your definition of success should hinge on maybe or not you've met your desired goals and targets, not someone else's.

Furthermore, always acknowledge the people who are instrumental to your growth and development in your chosen career. It is an important gesture to acknowledge people who help you even though it may look unnecessary. Whether someone leave all they are doing to attend to your career needs for just five minutes or even 30 minutes, it all equates to the same irrespective of the length of the time. Acknowledge that person that links you up to a potential client or employer, whichever the case may be. These simple acts will let you know how far you've gone in your chosen career.
