In the rustic streets of my neighborhood here in Latin America I have witnessed the rawest and most just but at the same time I have seen the noblest acts full of hope.
Life here is said to be difficult and the days are full of challenges and are constant, which makes it seem almost impossible to see a light at the end of the tunnel, but in the midst of all despair there are always those glimmers of hope that push you to move forward.
In a country full of riches as its culture and nature has been marked by great inequality and corruption this makes that since childhood reality shows us its most unforgiving face I remember very well how my parents worked from sunrise to sunset to put food on the table striving to a system that did not recognize their effort just like my grandparents have stories of hope and resilience they taught me about the revolutions and struggles that we must never give up if we want a better future. Through the years I have seen how many family friends have left, some looking for better opportunities in foreign lands others getting lost in an environment that seems to offer no way out, the pain of many absences are felt in the heart of the neighborhood for every scar reminds us of the strength it receives in us.
However despite everything I have learned that despair will never have the last word every day when I wake up and watch the sun illuminate the roofs of my community I feel that hope is reborn again I am sure that I understood that the key is here in these communities where the invisible ties that unite and strengthen us become strong every day to see those children playing in the street to see the markets full of life those family hugs are quite constant these reminders so we see that it is worth continuing to fight.
Over time I decided to be a little more attentive to that part of the change that we aspire so much I have joined several community groups and began to work on projects that bring education and opportunity to young people I have told stories of overcoming those that allow us to dream of a brighter tomorrow there must of I understood that the system can appear immense and unbreakable every small action counts and every gesture of kindness and solidarity is something fundamental.
But these changes do not always come from great Revolution most of the time we find ourselves in small high as in the education we provide especially in the way we provide it in how we raise our child to be sympathetic beings committed and have that good vibe that tenacity and that energy with which we face the day to day.
And that is how living these crossings between hope and separation I find my voice and my mission the story of our lives that Latin America itself is woven but with challenges and I know that all this with a determination that make us unbreakable as we know that no matter how dark the present may appear the future is not written and it is up to us to change the destiny.
Let us know that in spite of all the injustices and difficulties that each one of us has the ability to be a beacon of hope because change can begin with something as simple as believing that it is possible to work on it and one day we will realize that believing and doing is possible when we see our dreams come true in my heart I know that a better future awaits us if we do not stand firm if we learn from the past and commit ourselves to never stop fighting.
