Don't Let the Mistakes Define Who You are Are
We all want to be successful, and that's why we wake up and go to work each day. But what we don't appreciate each time is how failure makes up a massive proportion of making it there. It's straightforward to see just the win and ignore the possibility of learning from the failures.
"Maintaining a balance between success and failure is tough." The last thing you want is to exhaust yourself trying to be everything to everybody. It just so happens that if you loosen up, look at your vulnerabilities, and allow yourself to fail, you'll have more fun than ever.
When you do fail, ask yourself the following three questions to learn from your failure and grow.
- What do I do next?
Mistake is a gift. When you did something incorrectly, you create a new learning and growth door. For you to rectify what you destroyed, just keep moving, and that necessitates you to learn from what went wrong.
Every mistake is trying to learn something. Ask yourself what to do next. Is there a lesson in your mistake? Maybe it's a shift you need to learn to avoid making the same mistake again. But even when you can't quite identify the mistake, it still happened. So, if you want to learn, ask, "What did I learn from this?"
- What did I learn about myself?
We generally feel bad when we have made a mistake. It is not necessarily wrong to do this, but you don't have to. You can learn quite a bit about who you are from a mistake, so let go of the shame. Think what you can learn. Maybe you learned you were too self-assured. Maybe you shouldn't give your money away the way that you do. Perhaps you must honor your word. Perhaps you must be more clear-cut in areas. The list is long and that is why blunders are significant.
If you have an opportunity to learn from an error, do take it. Do ensure to ask the important things so that you may develop as an individual. If you are afraid to ask, how are you to learn from errors?
- What did I learn about other people?
No one's so perfect that they can't mess up, so don't sweat it too much. Don't let it be all about you. A mistake will teach you a great deal about you and others.
That error might have led you to alter the way you act towards others. For example, you might find yourself needing to listen more carefully to counsel. Or maybe you find yourself needing to cease shutting other people down.
Maybe you notice that you need to fix how you decide things. Maybe you notice that you need to open up. Whichever the mistake, don't avoid it. Study it and take something from the shot. The more you do this, the more people will respect you, and they'll likely hang out with you. That's good for everyone.
Learn to take something from mistakes.
At times, we are so busy and we just keep moving, but if you pause every once in a while, you will make the right decision for yourself.
Anybody who is good has a bucket of failures that they are carrying. We all called someone or did something not so good. Some people don't let themselves come to terms with what they did.
We all have something to learn from our errors. There is a distinction between learning from a mistake and letting it hurt us. That's why you have to make the habit of thinking and learning from your errors. This way, you won't be stuck in a cycle of making bad choices without feeling guilty about it.
Our mistakes are our chance to learn. When we see our errors, we're not embarrassed. Rather, we're prepared to make a better way for ourselves.
Chances are, if you're reading this, then you've done something wrong. It happens. So don't worry about it. It happens to everybody. The key to learning from mistakes is not to dwell on them but to utilize them as a chance to build.
