Anxiety is worst, no matter if it happens to you or with someone else. And if you are not the person who is facing anxiety, it a blessing I think. But as anxiety is becoming very normal in today's life, so not only we should know how to handle it better but also we should learn how we can deal with other's anxiety as well.
Let me explain!
Maybe your loved one or your friend or your family member is facing anxiety. We should be there to support them. But most of us are actually clueless about this. It's not very uncommon to say or do totally opposite things when we see people around us are facing it. We should not be the one to make them feel worse. Then what should we do, right?
Try to learn what's making them feel anxious.
Don't suggest anything, first. People who are anxious may not gonna react on our suggestion positively. Rather asking gentle questions can help both sides.
Show empathy
Maybe the reason for someone's anxiety seem silly to us. But it can be different for them. So, don't judge. Show themselevs that you are here to support.
Don't present your personal life problem
This is very common that we present our own problem and try to make them believe we are dealing with a lot bigger problems. This will never help us rather it will make them feel worse. Try to be a good listener, instead.
Show them healthy behaviour and support
You can set an example to let them follow or suggest how they can get up from it. Rather than making them feel guilty, let them feel good about themselves.
We as a human social being are passively accountable for other's problem. So don't avoid this issue and try to help others in a better way. You can also invent your own way as per the situation. Just don't make them feel worse.
