This is my entry for Reflection Hunters 118 #reflections hosted by the Shadow Hunters community and @olgavita. This is the Whalehead Club on the Outer Banks in North Carolina. More info on the history of the Whalehead Club
here It was a beautiful morning with blue skies, a light breeze, and lovely green everywhere. The large trees on the grounds of the Whalehead Club are live oaks. We didn't go inside the house but it was completed in 1925 and according to wikipedia is a "pominent example of Art Nouveau".
Not far away is the Currituck Beach Lighthouse. More info on this grand 1875 lighthouse here
Both these historic sites are in the town of Corolla, North Carolina. In addition to the history, there are numerous docks. We were early in the season before they filled up with boats.
Piers were also available for fishing or just to take in the views 🙂 The still water was perfect for reflections on this lovely morning. This gazebo is on the inland side of the island. From out on the end of the pier, you can see the North Carolina mainland.
The morning light was very bright and almost washed out this photo. The tree image is not great but the reflection is almost perfect 😁
