Today I am participating for one of the incredible weekly contests that @OCD Community has been offering, this week hand in hand with the Hive Book Club Community, whose aim is supporting readers with their initiatives and create discussions among book lovers.

El día de hoy estaré participando en uno de los increíbles concursos semanales que ha estado ofreciendo La Comunidad de @OCD, esta semana de la mano con la comunidad de Hive Book Club, cuya meta es apoyar a los lectores con sus iniciativas y crear debates entre los amantes de los libros.

The reason why I wanted to take part of this is because I am a book lover since I was a child, I learned how to read around 3 and 4 years old, I know, it was an early age, but my parents are passionate readers, so it was to be expected since they always looked for books that encouraged me to read according to the tastes of my ages, starting from princesses and animals books, passing through books of ghosts and teen drama, until take me to novels and tragedies. One of the best habits that they taught me. I even wanted to study literature at the university, but I finally chose to dedicate my life to music. All of this is related to the topic that I picked to this post, I hope you like it!
La razón por la que quise participar es porque desde pequeña siempre fui amante de la lectura, aprendí a leer entre los 3 y 4 años, sí, una edad temprana, pero al ser mis padres lectores apasionados era lo mínimo que podía esperarse, pues siempre buscaron libros que me motivaban a leer relacionados a los gustos de mis edades, comenzando con libros de princesas y animales, pasando por libros de leyendas de fantasmas y dramas adolescentes, hasta llevarme a novelas y tragedias. Una de las mejores costumbres que sembraron en mí. Incluso quería estudiar literatura en la universidad, pero al final escogí dedicarme a la música. Todo esto se relaciona con el tema que escogí para mi post de hoy, ¡espero que les guste!

Entre las preguntas que plantearon responder estaban:
¿Alguna vez un libro te ha transformado a ti y a tu vida?
¿Cuál es tu libro favorito? y ¿por qué?
Y por supuesto la que yo escogí:
Si estuvieras haciendo una película basada en un libro, ¿cuál libro escogerías? y ¿por qué?
The book I choose / El libro que escogí
I chose this question because when I was a child, if a book envolved me it was inevitable not imagine all the scenarios with details and have them memorized throughout the experience (I know the same happens with everyone and this is why authors are very descriptive), but having a clear representation of everything in my mind I always thought things like: "I want to see this" or "would it be possible that others imagine this just like me?" even "could my perception be wrong"? and of course, within all of those thoughts one in particular used to come: "how would this look in a movie? would it be successful?"
So for that reason responding to this question fits me like a glove since I had many time wishing to express my opinion in a more formal way. Furthermore, I picked a non famous book to take advantage of this and share it with you, because I think the book is worth it.
But first, let's talk a little about the book and its author.
Escogí esta pregunta porque desde pequeña, cuando un libro me atrapaba era inevitable no imaginarme todos los escenarios con detalle y tenerlos memorizados durante toda la experiencia (ya sé que nos pasa a todos, es la razón por la cual los autores son muy descriptivos), pero al tener una clara representación de todo en mi mente siempre pensaba cosas como: "quiero verlo" o "¿será que los demás lo imaginan igual?" incluso "¿estará errada mi percepción?" y por supuesto que en medio de todos esos pensamientos solía llegar uno en particular: "¿cómo se vería en una película? ¿tendría éxito?"
Por esa razón responder esta pregunta me cayó como anillo al dedo, pues tenía mucho tiempo queriendo expresar mi opinión de una manera más formal, si así podemos decirle. Además, escogí un libro no tan conocido para aprovechar esta ocasión y compartirlo, pues siento que vale la pena leerlo.
Pero primero, hablemos un poco del libro y de su autora.

Enchantress from the Stars
This talks about a universe that has technologically very advanced characteristics, and at the same time, it has the most primitive aspects. In this universe there are different types of civilizations which inhabit the different planets, so each planet lives a completely different history and evolutionary development, that is why many of these civilizations are not even aware that the others exist.
And this take us to the development of the story; Elana, a brave girl, who comes from one of the more advanced civilizations, lands by mistake on a planet called Andrecia, which is barely going through its medieval stage, so its population still believe in dragons and magic. Then they introduce Georyn, a humble and smart boy inhabitant of Andrecia, who wants to free the kingdom from the dragon to earn the reward from the king. When our main characters know each other, he immediately assumes that she is an enchantress, and then she decides to accompany him on his journey while little by little they begin to develop a loving bond, but this fact only makes us wonder often, hoy could it work if they both are so different?
Now that you know this, I can promise you this book offers an unforgettable experience.
La Hechicera de las Estrellas
Se trata sobre un universo que cuenta con características tecnológicamente muy avanzadas, y a su vez, tiene aspectos de lo más primitivos. En este universo existen distintos tipos de civilizaciones que habitan los diferentes planetas, entonces cada planeta vive una historia y un desarrollo evolutivo completamente distinto, es por eso que muchas de esas civilizaciones ni siquiera están enteradas de que existen las demás.
Y esto nos lleva al desarrollo de nuestra historia; Elana, una chica valiente, proveniente de una de las civilizaciones más avanzadas, aterriza por equivocación en un planeta llamado Andrecia, el cual se encuentra apenas atravesando su etapa medieval, por lo tanto, sus habitantes aún creen en dragones y en magia. Seguidamente nos presentan a Georyn, un chico humilde e inteligente habitante de Andrecia, que quiere liberar al reino del dragón para obtener la recompensa del rey. Cuando nuestros protagonistas se conocen, él automáticamente asume que ella es una hechicera, y luego ella decide acompañarlo en su travesía, mientras que poco a poco van desarrollando un vínculo amoroso, pero esto nos hace preguntarnos constantemente ¿cómo podría esto funcionar si ambos son tan diferentes?
Tomando todo esto en cuenta, les puedo asegurar que este libro ofrece una experiencia inolvidable.

Sylvia Engdahl (1933)
Born in Los Angeles, California, mostly known as a science fiction writer, has been winner of several literary awards like Phoenix Award of the Children's Literature Association 1990, Christopher Award 1973, finalist of Book Sense Book of the Year in the Rediscovery category in 2002, ALA Popular Paperbacks for Young Adults 2004 and many more. She grew up being a girl who did not identify herself with other kids of her same age because she did not like to play with them, so later she found refuge in literature, and this became her a successful woman. In fact, her most recognized book is Enchantress from the Stars, which she wrote in 1970.
I consider she was a woman far ahead of her time, since the book is old, and nowadays, in the middle of 20211 it is still considered highly innovative, because the vision that Engdahl had will continue to be beyond our knowledge for many years to come. I can even relate a lot to the writer with one of the main characters, because she, like Georyn, surely in many moments of her life came to feel overwhelmed by being ahead of so many ideas compared to the people around her, and that must be more painful than it seems, because I lived it with Georyn in the book and it left me with a great feeling of emptiness, so I think she could have gone through the same experience as him, the character that she invented herself.

Creció siendo una niña que no se identificaba con los otros niños de su edad, pues no le gustaba jugar con ellos, entonces más adelante encontró refugió en la literatura, y esto la llevó a ser una mujer exitosa. Efectivamente, su libro más conocido es La Hechicera de las Estrellas, el cual escribió en 1970.
Considero que fue una mujer sumamente adelantada a su época, pues el libro es muy viejo, y hoy, en pleno 2021 sigue siendo considerado altamente innovador, pues la visión que tuvo Engdahl seguirá estando más allá de nuestros conocimientos dentro de muchos años más. Incluso puedo relacionar mucho a la escritora con uno de los personajes principales, pues ella, al igual que Georyn, seguro en muchos momentos de su vida llegó a sentirse abrumada por estar adelantada a tantas ideas a comparación de las personas que la rodeaban, y eso debe ser un hecho más doloroso de lo que parece, pues al vivirlo con Georyn en el libro a mí me dejó una gran sensación de vacío, así que pienso que ella pudo llegar a pasar por lo mismo que él, el personaje que ella misma inventó.

Why a movie about this book would be amazing?
Since it is considered as a science fiction book aimed not only at teens but also at adults, I am sure that it would attract a wide variety of audiences, because it has action, drama, a very fresh romance story, (it is not intense at all), it also shows us the contrast of some worlds, from spaceships to environments inspired by medieval times. Anyway, it would be a film with a lot of diversity, suitable for all types of audiences thanks to the quality of its plot, and even more if we talk about its characters, who are undoubtedly endearing and have a great individual development that would make the viewer empathize with them immediately. The conditions in which the story unfolds makes it extremely intriguing, making us want to know more and more each time, but not in order to get to the end, but to enjoy the adventures together with the characters. I think that this universe made up of good actors, a good budget for the stages, and of course, a good investment in a soundtrack of fanciful themes and a few melancholic ones, could be a perfect mix that would be unforgettably captured on the big screen.
¿Por qué creo que una película de este libro sería maravillosa?
Al ser considerado un libro de ciencia ficción dirigido no solo a adolescentes sino también a adultos, estoy segura de que atraería una gran variedad de público, porque tiene acción, drama, una historia de romance muy fresca, pues no es para nada intensa, nos muestra el contraste de varios mundos, desde naves espaciales hasta ambientes inspirados en la época medieval. En fin, sería una película con mucha diversidad, apta para todo tipo de audiencias gracias a la calidad de su trama, y aún más si hablamos de sus personajes, que sin duda son entrañables y cuentan con un gran desarrollo individual que haría que el espectador empatice con ellos inmediatamente. Las condiciones en que se va desenvolviendo la historia la hace sumamente intrigante haciéndonos querer saber más y más cada vez, pero no para llegar al final, sino para disfrutar de las aventuras junto con los personajes. Creo que este universo conformado por buenos actores, un buen presupuesto para los escenarios, y por supuesto, una buena inversión en una banda sonora de temas fantasiosos y unos cuantos melancólicos, serían una mezcla perfecta que quedaría inolvidablemente plasmada en la gran pantalla.

Let's imagine a movie in which different points of view about world history and civilizations are exposed between lines, creating an interesting debate about all the theories that exist of prehistoric facts and beliefs. A film that encourages viewers to open their minds to different ideas, that not necessarily for fear of the unknown have to assume that we are the only inhabitants of the entire universe, since it is infinite. Films have a greater scope, therefore, imagine an audience willing to see beyond their noses to be influenced by such a deep plot without even knowing it, since science fiction will make it seem more entertaining than educational, and this is a good strategy to bring different ideas to a large group of people without them realizing it.
Imaginemos una película en la que se utilizan entre líneas diferentes puntos de vista sobre la historia del mundo y las civilizaciones, creando un debate interesante sobre todas las teorías que existen de hechos y creencias prehistóricas. Una película que incentive a los espectadores a abrir su mente a distintas ideas, que no necesariamente por miedo a lo desconocido tengan que asumir que somos los únicos habitantes de todo el universo, pues este es infinito. Las películas tienen mayor alcance, por lo tanto, imaginemos una audiencia dispuesta a ver más allá de sus narices al ser influenciados por una trama tan profunda sin ni siquiera saberlo, ya que la ciencia ficción la hará parecer más entretenida que educativa, y esto es una buena estrategia para plantear ideas diferentes a un grupo grande de personas sin que se den cuenta.

Finally, other of the reasons what I choose this book is because I remember that I read it for the first time without any expectations when I was 15, nobody recommended it to me, I just found it at home between a pile of books that my dad bought and the store added this as a gift. When I saw it I just thought: "I need a physical book to read during math class", and then I started reading it, the days went by and suddenly I did not read it only in math class but at home until midnight or on my way to school, so loving the book really took me by surprised, because as I told you before, I had no expectations at first. When I finished I felt so empty because I had nobody to discuss about it, so I recommended it to my dad and to a friend, who experienced the same: they got involved into that universe. In my opinion, it could happen if it reach a wider audience through a film, it would have a lot of impact on people of all ages.
Finalmente, una de las razones por las cuales escogí este libro es porque recuerdo que lo leí por primera vez a los 15 años sin ningún tipo de expectativas, pues nadie me lo recomendó, lo encontré en mi casa entre una pila de libros que mi papá compró y la tienda añadió ese de regalo. Cuando lo vi solo pensé: "necesito un libro en físico para poder leer durante las clases de matemática", y así comencé a leerlo, pasaban los días y ya no era solo en clase de matemáticas, sino en mi casa hasta altas horas de la madrugada, o camino al colegio, y realmente me tomó por sorpresa lo mucho que me gustó, porque como dije anteriormente, no tenía ningún tipo de expectativas al principio. Cuando terminé sentía la necesidad de comentarlo con alguien, y se lo recomendé a mi papá y a un amigo, a quienes les pasó lo mismo que a mí: se involucraron mucho en ese universo. Esto es lo que pienso que podría pasar si llega a una audiencia más amplia por medio de una película, tendría mucho impacto en gente de todas las edades.
