Bitter melon or Parea or has the Latin Momordica charantia is a plant that is usually processed into vegetables. Its shape is protruding and serrated and what distinguishes this plant from other plants is its distinctive taste, which is bitter. However, the bitter taste will disappear or decrease if we can process it properly. However, many also consume this bitter melon as a salad or consume it raw. It's all based on taste, but if I personally can't eat it raw so I usually process it into a friend to eat my rice and I will stir-fry it with tempeh. And in this post I will show you how I process this bitter melon.
Ingredients needed:
1. 250. Grams of Bitter Melon
2. 1 pack of Tempeh (I don't know if your country has tempeh with a small size like this or not and whether this tempeh is a rare item or not, but if your country does have tempeh like this with a large size, use only ½ pack because it's not too much. However, I leave it all to your improvisation when cooking. And in this recipe, here is the composition and ingredients I need)
3. 4-5 cloves of shallots
4. 1 clove of garlic
5. 1 tomato
6. Green chilies according to your respective spicy tolerance. If I use a little more because I want this stir fry to be a little spicier
7. Salt to taste
How to saute bitter melon is:
1. The bitter melon is cut in half then remove the seeds then cut into thin pieces according to taste
2. After it is finished being cut, I rinse it with hot or warm water so that the bitter taste caused by the bitter melon disappears but does not damage other beneficial substances for the body, after being rinsed, then squeeze it a little to clean it and remove the water.
3. The next step I took was to slice the garlic, shallots, chilies, and tomatoes that I had previously peeled and washed.

4. Then I diced the tempeh that I had prepared earlier
5. Then heat the vegetable oil after that stir-fry the ingredients that I had sliced earlier until all the ingredients wilted and gave off a fragrant smell.
6. After that, add the tempeh and stir evenly
7. Then add the bitter melon that we prepared earlier and stir evenly
8. And don't forget the salt must be added, stir until evenly mixed and cover for a while so that it cooks evenly and don't wait more than 5 minutes because if it is too cooked, in my opinion it won't taste good
9. Don't forget to check the taste if it suits our taste then the stove can be turned off and the vegetables can be served.
