Kolak is a traditional Indonesian dish, made with mung beans, glutinous rice, and coconut milk. Besides these main ingredients, kolak can also be added to other ingredients such as corn, jackfruit, banana, sweet potato, and so on. Since I have corn and jackfruit on hand today, I decided to add them to my kolak.
At first glance, this kolak looks more like porridge, but we usually call it kolak. It's very common during Ramadan. Its sweet taste and fragrant jackfruit aroma make this kolak very popular among Indonesian culinary lovers. In fact, kolak is very popular everywhere, perhaps just by different names.
Kolak can also be given to children with a sweet taste, children will definitely like it, like my child, he really likes kolak, for him kolak is a filling food in the morning, but it is true that if we don't want to have rice for breakfast in the morning, we can make kolak as a nutritious and sweet breakfast menu.
because a sweet breakfast will provide energy for our bodies and enable children to learn more optimally, but also don't eat too much sweet food, friends, because anything in excess is not good for our bodies, heheh
Materials used
2 ears of corn
500 ml of coconut milk
150 grams of jackfruit
100 grams of granulated sugar
100 grams of green beans
Manufacturing procedure
First, I boiled the green beans until they boiled, while waiting for the green beans to boil, I chopped the corn until it was gone
next I cut the jackfruit in half, separated the jackfruit from the seeds, after the green beans were boiling and soft then I added the jackfruit, rice, pandan leaves and corn
After that, I added salt, coconut milk and granulated sugar then I cooked again until all the ingredients were cooked and the sauce reduced
RESULTS
and this is the result, my super delicious and sweet homemade kolak, the aroma of jackfruit is so fragrant that anyone who passes by will definitely want to taste it, I myself can't wait to taste it
Eaten warm or cold, it will be equally delicious. If you put it in the refrigerator, it will also be very delicious. Usually, if there is a lot left, we put it in the refrigerator to enjoy it the next day.
The compote that I made is not too sweet because I also don't like very sweet compote, the level of sweetness is very right in my opinion, the corn and green beans really tasted great when I bit into it, when I also sipped the sauce, the super creamy and delicious sauce instantly I didn't stop to sip it.
