Bakwan is one of the famous fried foods in Indonesia and there are many types of bakwan available, ranging from vegan to non-vegan. and bakwan itself is a mixture of flour dough with many types of vegetables and additional kitchen spices then fried. If you come to Indonesia you can find a lot of this food at varying prices. However, making it yourself is certainly much healthier because we know the quality of the ingredients and of course without adding excessive MSG. To make this bakwan is also very easy and the ingredients used can be adjusted to suit existing supplies, but in my recipe this time I will make corn bakwan which will taste savory, spicy and sweet from the source of the corn. and the ingredients can be seen below.
materials needed :
- 3 corn cobs
- salt to taste
- 2 candlenut seeds
- 2 cloves of red onion
- 2 cloves of garlic
- celery leaves and leek leaves
- approximately 250 ML of water
- 250 grams of rice flour
- 100 grams of rice flour
- 2 carrot sticks
- chili to taste
how to make :
1. Separate the corn kernels from the cobs using a knife
2. Then clean the carrots and cut the carrots into small pieces lengthwise to make them prettier and when finished put them in the same container as the corn kernels.
3. Then slice the celery leaves and leek leaves into small pieces then put them into the corn and carrot bowl
4. After that, we grind the shallots, garlic, candlenuts, chilies and put them in the blender
5. then add salt to it, then add water and blend until smooth.
6. Mix the wheat flour and rice flour in a container
7. Then mix all the ingredients that have been ground together and stir until evenly mixed, then check the taste to see whether the saltiness suits your tongue or not.
8. The next step is to heat the cooking oil
9. And once it's hot, fry the dough with just a spoon in the mold. Fry a little at a time until all the batter is fried.
10. To indicate whether the bakwan is cooked or not, it will smell like corn and the color will be yellowish. and don't forget to flip the bakwan so it cooks evenly.
11. Bakwan can be served and eaten while hot with chili sauce or spicy soy sauce.
This bakwan is one of my and local residents' favorite fried foods, but don't consume this too often even though it tastes quite delicious, this is because consuming too much fried food too often will cause bad cholesterol in our bodies. So don't consume your friends' fried food too often, just once in a while it won't be a problem.
