The Calzones are taking Tier 2 by storm!

Thaddius v Obsidian

With Target Practice and Explosive Weaponry rulesets I was hoping that my opponent had low damage melee attacks and I could clog up the middle with enough meat shields to outlast. I saw my level four Thaddius load up against my opponent's level two Obsidian and thought I had a good shot at taking this one. I took a closer look and quickly noticed my mistake 🤦‍♂

We can't win them all, but anytime I see I had a 0% chance of winning, I know I had some serious logic flaws in my lineup. Or I just wasn't thinking at all, which is entirely possible 😀 I know better than to place such a low health lineup in a Explosive Weaponry battle. The whole lineup was susceptible to being taken out in one shot. I would have loved to have Tide Biter or Kinjo available to use for the Reflection Shield, but without those possibilities I have to put a higher health card on the board.

What would have been better?

Nothing could have been worse 🤣 The real kicker is I could have played a team of just Windeku and had a 100% chance of victory. That still would have left me with three mana and Fiend to play 🙄 I would have likely played the Fiend in the second spot and Life Sapper behind the Fiend. Hindsight is always 20/20, but this one stings.

🎉🎉 5—3. Starting off in Tier 2 with a winning record is better than I hoped for. 🎉🎉

The Calzones didn't place well, but for our first Tier two Brawl we performed well. We were the lowest ranked guild going in and we have a ways to go. The wins won't come as easy now. In fact this might be the first Brawl in some time that I did not have one win from an opponent fleeing. Tier 2 is going to force us to get stronger and learn more. I'm exited to see how we grow and slowly take Tier 2 by storm.

The good news is that even finishing in ninth place, the rewards were better than last Brawls third place finish in Tier 1. The higher competition and rewards is going to be a great thing for The Calzones!
