I know that every Filipino here would agree there are days during the summer that the heat is unbearable. And it sometimes causes irritation to everyone, unless they're enjoying a good day at the beach. Living in this tropical country only gave two options in weather conditions - rainy or sunny.
Honestly speaking, I am one of those who gets irritated easily when it's hot, especially when I am running some errands outside. But recently, I found a way to take advantage of the sunny days by using a solar panel to charge some of my devices at home. It's also my simple way of saving some electricity usage. Here's how I do it at home!
I started looking for solar panels months ago since I have been seeing them in the internet and other social media platforms. I am kind of aware on how they work, but have not yet tried it until I bought one. I tried looking at different online shopping platforms, and when I found the store with a good rating and thousands of sold items, I immediately placed an order. After a few days of waiting, it was already delivered at home and I read the instructions on how to use it.
According to its manual, I have to put it somewhere with direct sunlight so it could work its purpose better. I had to think of a good spot at home where it could get the most heat from the sun. And when I did, I placed it there and prepared the devices that I will charge using the solar panel. The one that I bought has two USB Ports where I could insert the charging cables.
When I already have the devices and their chargers, I started setting them up and compiling in one small table. I tried if it's working first, and when I saw the charging status on my phones, I already knew that it would work on most of my devices. One by one, I plugged in their chargers and observed. If you're wondering, I grabbed my iPhone 6S and my rechargeable flashlight and small fan.

When I have observed that the ports are working, I already set it up and waited for a few hours before they got fully charged. I organized them in one table, while the solar panel was placed in a spot with direct sunlight. It was just simple to setup and anyone can try it, especially those who experience extreme heat in their areas. You can save up some electricity, and at the same time, take advantage of the heat of the sun.
