With the start of the rainy season, bacteria and viruses are thriving. Since the wet and cold environment is perfect for their production, this is also the time when they can easily infect their hosts.
One of the common virus-induced diseases during the rainy season is the flu. The infected person usually experiences fever, chills, cough, runny nose, body ache, etc.

My brother had a fever last time, my mother followed, and today, I am one of the unlucky people who got the flu. Our home is not that big so it's already expected that when one of us got sick, there’s a chance that one of us will follow. Although I am anxious that this might be something else, like COVID-19, let’s stick on the brighter side 😂. Testing kits are expensive and I don’t afford to get positive.
One of the things I don't like most about getting the flu is having a cold and cough. My body is always having a hard time expelling the sticky mucus and recovering from it, and I don’t know why. Despite following different medical advice like drinking lots of fluid, eating fruits that are rich in vitamin c, resting a lot, and drinking meds, it still lasts for weeks. I envy some people who are able to function normally days after getting sick. What’s your ritual?
I started not to feel well yesterday, late in the afternoon. I noticed that I really felt tired although I haven't done anything tiring. My body and muscles started to ache later in the evening, and eventually, fever and chills. Waking up in the morning, I felt dizzy, and my whole body doesn't feel okay.
Right now, I have a cough and runny nose accompanied by difficulty in breathing. Water therapy is already not enough so I decided to use our nebulizer. Fortunately, my father bought some Salbutamol nebules to serve as a treatment for my brother and mother who are also having a hard time breathing due to their colds and runny nose.
Our lungs are not strong compared to other people, I guess. We have a history of Asthma on my mother's side which maybe explain why getting a cough or cold is not that easy for us. I remember my mother had a cough for weeks which resulted in her getting medication for almost three months because she always having a difficulty in breathing. Do you know Asthma Inhalers? That is what the doctor prescribed to her. Every time she puffs that device, I can see that she’s shaking or palpitating.

I also had an experience where I ignored my cough for weeks and then my father noticed that my condition is not getting good and I am losing weight. So he brought me to a doctor to check my condition, and according to the findings, I already had mild pneumonia. I have no choice but to take antibiotics to stop the infection.
My brother on the other hand hasn’t experienced any severe lung conditions except for mild asthma. Good for us that we have a nebulizer so we don’t need to worry if one of us got an attack.
As of the moment, I started to feel okay after getting nebulized. Although I hate the palpitations and mild shaking as its side effects, the relief it offers to my breathing balance it out. My body also feels okay now, maybe my immune system is able to stabilize the virus attack inside of me.
I am thankful that despite what I am feeling, I am still able to publish this today. Earlier ago, I was talking to @dennnmarc and I told him that I might skip writing today because of my current condition. But I suddenly felt motivated and got an idea to share this. Daily experiences can be considered a blog anyways.
