As Steve Jobs said, “The only way to do great work is to love what you do.” This quote is also similar to what our facilitator said during the Master's teachers summit activity last July 2-4 at Cebu Business Hotel. It was an activity intended to selected master teachers for a very important purpose. On day 1, we had our opening program followed by a discussion of various topics like the duties and responsibilities of a master teacher. We were reminded of our great responsibility being the master teacher in our respective schools. With the things discussed, we had our self-reflection that it's not easy to be a master teacher. After the discussion of the rules and responsibilities of a master teacher, there was a discussion of the different programs and projects initiated by DepEd and DepEd Cebu Province.
After that was the discussion of unpacking learning competencies and curriculum mapping. Since I am a TLE major, I am assigned to unpack the learning competencies of grade 8 agriculture and fishery arts and grade 10 SMAW. It was brain-draining activity, but we do it with love in our heart in everything we do, so that the task given would be easy. After finishing the unpacking of of grade 8 agriculture and fishery arts competencies into 3 objectives, I proceeded to the unpacking of SMAW grade 10. I was not done yet with my unpacking, but I will try my best to comply with his the soonest possible so that I can achieve success in this job assigned to me.
On the 3rd day was the sample showcasing of the finished output. We noticed that each subject had a different template and a different interpretation. So we little bit conscious of what the exact template will be using and the exact part of the unpacking of competencies. Until the team decided to send the unified template
After the by-subject area reporting, we proceeded to the closing activity and then received the certificate of recognition. After that was the photo opportunity of each learning area. Then we went home with some tasks unfinished and to be completed at home.
It was a very tiresome activity, yet it provided an opportunity for new learning and new friends. Thankful to our education program supervisor in TLE for the opportunity given as my new learning adventure.
That's all for now. Thank you for reading, and have a nice day.
