Making Fresh Juice!!

Hi! More about my life being OFW (Overseas Filipino Worker) in Hong Kong!
It's really so nice to share a story. I work here in Hong Kong as an OFW so I work in the house of my boss as domestic helper. I am proud to say that! Hehe... But our daily journey as OFW is not an easy task. It's really a hard life serving a family for the whole day. Working 24/7 which was my experience for 11 years full of hard work. But I can say I am a blessed one: At least my employers are so nice, kind-hearted and always generous.

But the real reason why I say I am blessed is that nowadays most of the time my job is just to look after the house of my employers because they already moved to the USA in 2022 together with their whole family. But they still kept their house here in Hong Kong. And they also kept me to take care of the house.
But here is the catch: My boss always comes back home once per month. He comes back to Hong Kong every month - most of the time for one day and one night only. But sometimes also for several days together with his mother and children which then keeps me busy like in the old days before then.

And always before he is coming back to Hong Kong he orders me to prepare orange and celery Juice... No food to prepare for him. Just juice... It seems he is missing this kind of fresh juice so much during his stay in the USA.

Preparing my Week!

Even if my employer is not always there and I only have to take care about their house, I am busy most of the time from Sunday to Friday. But why? Already in another post I mentioned that every Sunday I serve in St. Joseph Catholic Church, so nearly my whole Sunday is already occupied.
Apart from that, during the following days from Monday to Friday, I walk a dog twice a day.
But the main reason for being busy is that I prepare food in form of kakanin (snacks) to sell it outside on the street. Among others I am selling for example: Biko, Cassava Cake, Maja Blanca, Pansit Bihon and Puto cheese.
I do this to earn some extra money which I need to support my parents and my son who are all living in the Philippines. Apart from that it inspires my mind to be active and having my own life and aims besides my every day job, and last but not least it simply makes me happy to sell food and see how my customers are enjoying and loving it!

However, since many years, my real dream for the future is to be completely independent one day and having my own business. I know it is not easy to reach, but I won't give up.

Vegetables I prepared for the week:

So here you can see all the vegetables which I have already prepared for the whole week. I already cleaned and cut it. But isn't that too much work for one single person? Yes it is!! Hehe!! The carrots, beans and the sayote are for my Pansit Bihon. I make Pansit Bihon once a week for selling. And the remaining rest is for myself. This is the journey of a busy person... We all know that preparing food takes lots of time...
