In 1997 my dream of teaching came true. I was given a subject called "Diagramming and graphic arts" that would be on Wednesdays first thing in the morning, to train future TSU. That would be my teaching career that would last 9 years. I always wanted to come back, because it is something I love. Yesterday, Wednesday, that dream of returning was fulfilled, this time with high school students and to teach them about everything you learn in Hive.
When people come to this blockchain they have no idea about everything they will learn. We rarely explain it to them, almost always due to lack of time, because there are too many things to learn. This is experienced by each person at their own pace and depending on whether they choose to explore Hive beyond its surface. Of course, this is due to the fact that we do not have a study plan, it is free.
It was decided to create this study plan, with the indispensable subjects for every human being, but as a "strange" thing it is not included in the educational plans from the ministry of education. This plan includes four pillar areas such as: communication, relationships, finances and emotions; all of them based on Hive.
The first activity was to mention what topics they would have liked to learn in school. From this activity I got quite a lot of information and the main one was that most of them do not know which areas are indispensable for life. Most of them answered very specific topics that have to do with the person's likes and dislikes. Very few responded with topics that are useful for everyone. Just as reading and writing are indispensable for life, knowing chemistry or physics is not. Surely many teachers of these areas will defend themselves, but the vast majority of the population has never used them in their lives.
Instead there are areas that everyone should know, such as nutrition, basic mechanics (do-it-yourself), cooking and of course the ones we are incorporating such as Personal Branding, Public Speaking, Sales, Finance and Emotional Intelligence.
They mentioned things like Aeronautics, Astrology, Marine Biology which are far removed from our content. However others mentioned philosophy, personal relationships, marketing, graphic design, economics, psychology, which fall into our program. When I confirmed that they would be looking at those subjects, their eyes sparkled. You could notice the excitement with the subject and they only got a superficial information of what we will see, as I need to keep the curiosity and surprise; so I will not tell them the complete and detailed program.
Something that also interested them a lot, was when I told them that this program was a pioneer in the world and that many people from other countries were attentive to the process and results of the class. In this particular case, I understood it later when they told me that they had seen neither world history nor world geography; only Venezuela. There was also one student who mentioned her desire to learn about other cultures and that she would like this to be part of the education. We will see if we can program it in some activity, since in Hive you can learn about different cultures.
At the end they went to the coordinator and told her that they really liked the class, but that I sent a lot of homework 🤣. The homework was to make their presentation in Hive 😒.
The presentations will be sent to the mail for correction and each activity will be presented in their blogs.
I have to give a huge thanks to the baccalaureate coordinator @requenayu for all her support with the kids; although she called me "fiebruo" for arriving 15 minutes before the time 🤣; but the truth is that yes I am very excited, it will be so many cool things we will do that every school in the world will want to replicate it 😎.

En el año 97 se me cumplió el sueño de dar clases. Me dieron una materia llamada "Diagramación y artes gráficas" que sería los miércoles a primera hora de la mañana, para formar a futuros TSU. Eso sería mi carrera como docente que duraría 9 años. Siempre quedé con ganas de volver, porque es algo que me encanta. Ayer miércoles se cumplió ese sueño de regresar, esta vez con estudiantes de bachillerato y para enseñarles sobre todo lo que se aprende en Hive.
Cuando las personas llegan a esta blockchain no tienen ni idea de todo lo que aprenderán. Pocas veces les explicamos, casi siempre por falta de tiempo, ya que son demasiados aprendizajes. Esto lo va viviendo cada persona a su ritmo y dependiendo de si elige explorar a Hive más allá de su superficie. Por supuesto, se debe a que no tenemos un plan de estudio, sino que es libre.
Se decidió crear ese plan de estudio, con los temas indispensables para todo ser humano, pero como cosa "extraña" no se incluye en los planes educativos desde el ministerio de educación. Este plan incluye cuatro áreas pilares como: la comunicación, las relaciones, las finanzas y las emociones; todas ellas basadas en Hive.
La primera actividad que se realizó fue la de mencionar, qué temas hubiesen querido aprender en la escuela. De esta actividad saqué bastante información y la principal fue que la mayoría no sabe cuáles áreas son indispensables para la vida. La mayoría respondió temas muy específicos que tienen que ver con los gustos de la persona. Muy pocos respondieron con temas que son útiles para todos. Así como leer y escribir es indispensable para la vida, conocer de química o física no. Seguro que muchos profesores de estas áreas se defenderán, pero la gran mayoría de la población nunca uso eso en su vida.
En cambio existen áreas que toda persona debe saber, como nutrición, mecánica básica (bricolage), cocina y por supuesto las que estamos incorporando como Marca Personal, Oratoria, Ventas, Finanzas e Inteligencia Emocional.
Mencionaron cosas como Aeronática, Astrología, Biología Marina que se alejan mucho de nuestro contenido. Sin embargo otros mencionaron filosofía, relaciones personales, marketing, diseño gráfico, economía, sicología, que entran en nuestro programa. Cuando les confirmé que verían esos temas, les brillaron los ojos. Se pudo notar la emoción con la materia y solo obtuvieron una información superficial de lo que veremos, ya que necesito mantener la curiosidad y sorpresa; por lo que no les diré el programa completo y detallado.
Algo que también les interesó mucho, fue cuando les dije que este programa era pionero en el mundo y que muchas personas de otros países estaban atentas al proceso y resultados de la clase. En este particular, lo entendí después cuando me dijeron que no habían visto ni historia universal ni geografía universal; solo de Venezuela. También hubo una alumna que mencionó sus ganas por conocer otras culturas y que le gustaría que esto formara parte de la educación. Veremos si lo programamos en alguna actividad, ya que en Hive se puede conocer sobre diferentes culturas.
Al finalizar fueron donde la coordinadora y le dijeron que les gustó mucho la clase, pero que mandé mucha tarea 🤣. La tarea fue hacer su presentación en Hive 😒

Tengo que agradecer enormemente a la coordinadora de bachillerato @requenayu por todo su apoyo con los chicos; aunque me llamó "fiebruo" por llegar 15 minutos antes de la hora 🤣; pero la verdad es que sí estoy muy emocionado, serán tantas cosas geniales que haremos que todas las escuelas del mundo querrán replicarlo 😎
