Hello friends! I got an unexpected cargo yesterday, and I wanted to share my excitement with you all!
First of all, I have to say that I really so much appreciated your engagement with my previous post! Thank you all, guys! It's really good to interact with people who have different sub-interest in the same hobby. I want to shoutout everyone below that post, please check @sapadetzero, @captainglondo, @muscara, and @isangelous out for their beautiful content, and share your passion!
Anyways... As I said above, I got an unexpected cargo from Mongoose Publishing yesterday. If you're not familiar with the company, they are best known for Traveller and Paranoia. Also, you can find the video game of Paranoia on Epic Games Store. At least, it was there some time ago. I asked them last week if they could spare me any copies, and they decided to send me physical ones. Probably starting with this post, whenever a company send me a physical product, I will put a review post on hive. So here's the products:
TRAVELLER 2022 Edition
(I couldn't fix the image, somehow it loads only half of it.) Here is the Traveller Core Rulebook, 2022 Edition. It has the exact size of American-style print. With nice binding.
This is the first page view. It's kinda important for binding and comfort of pages. If there's any issue with the book's binding, you can see the issue from here.
Another binding view of the book. It looks like it's knotted well. That means, the book is really durable unless you use it extremely.
Here is the interior view of the book. Page quality is pretty good, and since the colors look kinda basic, everything on the book can be read clearly.
Here are some interior artworks and tables. All can be read clearly.
PARANOIA
Please excuse my half-seen outer look photos. I don't really know what's the problem, but hive's interface does that.
So, let's take a look into interior materials!
Paranoia came as a boxed set. It has empty character sheets, cards, and books.
Character sheets are made of premium cardboards, probably with some pen, you can fill it out and then erase the ink. But I'm not sure.
The game has some card piles, divided into five. 50 action cards, 22 equipment cards, 6 bonus duty cards, 15 mutant power cards, 16 secret society cards and a "You Are Number One" card.
The boxed set has three books with it. Player's Handbook, Gamemaster's Handbook, and Mission Book. All of them has enough info in it, and have a really good quality.
As you can see, these books have a comicbook/graphic novel style binding and so their page quality are. Also, their size are similar to comicbook issue size, so technically they're smaller than usual rulebooks.
These are good quality products which I'm really amazed when I touch them. The next thing is to create some free time and read them at least once to learn the details. And after I finish my reading, you can be sure that there will be an introduction/review post for these lovely games.
Thank you for your time, and sorry again for half-loaded photos. See you in another post!
