DIYHUB MONTHLY CONTEST - TEAPOT
I wound my brain to see if an idea came to me for something I needed in my kitchen. I thought of a painting but I didn't want to paint 🤪 , I wanted to do something useful. I watched some videos to spark my imagination but nothing happened; until I saw a video of a teapot made with a tumbler type container, I liked that one but obviously I didn't want to repeat that project although it did spark my inspiration.
Le di cuerda a mi cerebro a ver si llegaba una idea de algo que necesitara en mi cocina. Pensé en un cuadro pero no quería pintar 🤪 , deseaba hacer algo útil. Vi algunos vídeos para despertar la imaginación pero no pasó nada; hasta que ví un video de una tetera hecha con un envase tipo vaso, esa me gustó pero obvio no quise repetir ese proyecto aunque sí despertó mi inspiración.

Tetera de falso peltre 🫖
Revisé la bolsa que tengo llena de botellas plásticas y encontré un envase de leche líquida, ideal para lo que tenía en mente. Síganme y verán.
Materials / Materiales
1 plastic bottle
Cold silicone
Cold paints of various colors
1 decorative napkin design
Glue
Brushes
Scissors
Toothbrush
Silver metallic foami
1 dropper spout
1 botella plástica
Silicón frío
Pinturas al frio de variados colores
1 diseño de servilleta decorativa

Procedure / Procedimiento
1- Cut the bottle into two parts: glass and cap.
1- Cortar la botella en dos partes: vaso y tapa.
2- Remove the mouth of the bottle to glue the cap in that place.
2- Quitar la boca de la botella para pegar la tapa en ese lugar.
3- Open a hole in the lid to embed and glue the dropper spout. On the tip place an ornament (optional).
3- En la tapa se abre un hueco para incrustar y pegar el pico de gotero. En la punta se coloca un adorno ( opcional ).
4- Paint the glass and the lid in white as a base paint. Paint both pieces gray.
4- Pintar de blanco el vaso y la tapa como pintura base. Pintar ambas piezas de color gris.
5- Glue the napkin design on the glass and the lid using the decoupage technique. Complete the design by painting some branches and leaves. Make an outline with the floating technique.
5- Pegar el diseño de servilleta en el vaso y en la tapa usando la técnica de decoupage. Completar el diseño pintando algunas ramas y hojas. Hacer un delineado con la técnica de flotado.
6- Paint small parts of black on the glass to simulate the fall of the pewter lining. Paint in black some spaces in the lid and the glass. With the toothbrush apply the splashing technique to the two pieces.
6- Pintar pequeñas partes de color negro en el vaso para simular la caída del revestimiento de peltre. Pintar de negro algunos espacios en la tapa y el vaso. Con el cepillo de dientes aplicar la técnica de salpicado a las dos piezas.
7- Apply a mixture of water and glue to give shine to the pieces.
7- Aplicar una mezcla de agua y pega para dar brillo a las piezas.
8- Make the handle with two strips of silver-colored foami and a strip of plastic from a soda bottle. Line the plastic strip with the two foami strips. The spout of the teapot is made with foami. Glue everything to the cup and ready the cute teapot. 🫖
8- Hacer el asa con dos tiras de foami color plata y una tira de plástico de botella de refresco. Forrar la tira de plástico con las dos tiras de foami. El pico de la tetera se hace con foami. Pegar todo al vaso y lista la linda tetera. 🫖
I almost always forget one step, this time it was the floating and I had to do it after applying the glue and water mixture although it's ok if the paint is applied afterwards.
The functionality of this decorative teapot is whatever your imagination allows. In my case I will use it, as well as a decorative object, to store some spices.

Yo casi siempre olvido un paso, esta vez fue el flotado y tuve que hacerlo después de aplicar la mezcla de pega y agua aunque no pasa nada si la pintura es aplicada después.
La funcionalidad de esta tetera decorativa es lo que tu imaginación te permita. En mi caso la usaré, además de objeto decorativo, para guardar algunas especias.
