If you're ever in Rhode Island. I highly recommend visiting a great little middle eastern restaurant called East Side Pockets.
It's located in Providence on Thayer St.
Here's they're website if you want more info. https://www.eastsidepocket.com/
I discovered this place back in 2000. It's one of my favorite places to eat. I honestly hope it survives this plandemic.
They have the best wraps. My favorite is the beef and lamb wrap.
I just tell them to put everything in the wrap. You can pick what you want in it.
Yet I found that the combination of all the ingredients creates an unforgettable flavor.
I was different person back when I first discovered this place. Back then I could eat two of those wraps in a sitting. Now I stare at the wrap and wonder how I was able to do so. One is more then enough to fill my inner void.
I'm a creature of habit, and must admit there's only one other item I've tried. Not because of lack of time spent there. Just because I can't go there, and not order the beef and lamb wrap. Seems like a lost opportunity to me. Though maybe one day I'll venture into their plains of reality. Who knows I might find a new favorite.
Though I'm sitting here wondering weither or not I really mean it. The other item that I refuse to miss an opportunity to enjoy. Is from their assortment of pastries.
It's a delightfully light pistachio and honey pastry. Don't remember the name, but trust me. It's all that I've forgotten about it. It's crispy and flaky, and absolutely delightful. My heart smiles when I lay eyes on it. 😍
I usually buy more then I intend to eat. The plan being to share whatever survives the journey home. Such a light an satisfying snack is difficult to resist.
It really is a hidden gem. Thayer St. itself such a huge array of small shops and restaurants. It would be easy to overlook if it's your first time there. Yet it's worth the visit. Thanks for sharing with me. I hope you find yourself there one day. God Bless.
