I love testing new things, and this time I decided to try VSC Network and its application Altera, which promises to connect the Hive ecosystem with EVM wallets.
The idea is simple: take your HIVE or HBD and be able to use them on Ethereum-compatible networks.
It might sound complicated if you’re not used to DeFi or multichain bridges, but I’ll try to show you how it works without dragging things out.
Each blockchain ecosystem has its own rules and tools, and that’s where VSC Network comes in — a platform built to connect the Hive world to other ecosystems and blockchains. Inside it, we have Altera, a DeFi app that makes cross-chain transactions and wallet integrations much easier.
And I have to say, the Altera site deserves some praise. Clean interface, well-organized, and easy to understand. They really managed to make it intuitive.
Ready? Buckle up and lets go...
I started by connecting to the Altera website with my Hive account through Hive Keychain, and then I connected my EVM wallet.

Next step was topping up on VSC Network. In my case, I did a quick test by sending 1 HBD and 1 HIVE to the network using the Altera site.
This process was super simple:
You choose your Hive username as the recipient, pick VSC network as destination, then select Hive Mainnet as the source, and choose the asset — HBD or Hive.
Then it’s just a matter of confirming, reviewing the info, and signing the transaction on Hive Keychain — done, balance loaded.

With balance ready, now it was time to transfer to the EVM wallet, which can be yours or someone else’s if you want to pay them in HBD or Hive.
I copied, pasted, double-checked… actually, check once, twice, even three times if you need (it’s your money!) and only then confirmed the transaction.

A quick note for devs: when I entered my ETH address, which is huge, I noticed a little horizontal scroll bug. Nothing major, but worth improving. Other than that, everything worked perfectly.

I always like to inspect Hive transactions that require the Active Key, especially on new sites I don’t know yet. Clicking on “Data” when signing lets you review what’s being broadcasted to the Hive blockchain.
A few seconds later, I opened Zerion again and there were my Hive and HBD tokens available.
Such a great feeling to see the bridge working. I’m even thinking of sending some tokens to an ETH maxi friend just to see his reaction.
Another thing I found interesting and still want to test is the option for sHBD — meaning having liquid HBD to transfer but still enjoying the Savings APR.
Overall, I really liked the experience. The VSC proposal is pretty cool because it makes cross-ecosystem interoperability so much simpler.
If you’re already into DeFi, you’ll find it very intuitive. If not, reading this walkthrough should give you an idea of how smooth it is.

I’ve been following VSC since the early announcements, and it’s clear they aim to go way beyond simple token transfers. The mission is straightforward: take Hive to a new level with smart contracts and true integration with other networks.
I’ve always seen Hive as one of the best blockchains — it has features that others still struggle to implement — but it’s been way too isolated.
Now, with VSC, that might change through this new cross-chain layer connecting Hive with Bitcoin, Ethereum, and beyond.
Imagine Hive as a DeFi hub with easy-to-use tools, no user headaches — and after this experience with Altera, I can say they’re on the right track.

Gosto de testar coisas novas e dessa vez resolvi testar a VSC Network e sua aplicação Altera, que promete conectar o ecossistema Hive com carteiras EVM.
A ideia Ă© simples: pegar seus HIVE ou HBD e conseguir usá-los em redes compatĂveis com Ethereum.
Talvez isso possa parecer complicado para quem não está acostumado com DeFi ou pontes multichain, mas vou tentar mostrar aqui como funciona.
Cada ecossistema de Blockchain tem suas próprias regras e ferramentas, e é aà que entra a VSC Network, uma plataforma criada para conectar o mundo Hive a outros ecossistemas e blockchains. É aà que entra o site Altera, uma aplicação DeFi que facilita as transações cross-chain e integração com diferentes carteiras.
E claro que preciso elogiar o site da Altera. Interface bem organizada e fácil de entender. Conseguiram deixar bem intuitivo.

PrĂłximo passo Ă© fazer um top up na VSC Network, no meu caso eu fiz um teste enviando 1 HBD e 1 HIVE para a rede usando o site da Altera.
Esse processo foi bem simples:
Você irá escolher seu usuaário Hive como destinatário e escolher a rede VSC como destino,
Depois escolha Hive Mainnet como origem, e escolhe o asset HBD ou Hive.
Ai é só confirmar, fazer o review das informações e assinar a transacao no Hive Keychain e pronto, saldo carregado.

Com saldo disponĂvel, agora Ă© hora para a transferĂŞncia para a carteira EVM, que pode ser sua ou de alguĂ©m que vocĂŞ queira pagar e quer receber em HBD ou Hive.
Copiei, colei, revisei duas vezes… na verdade, confere uma, duas, três vezes se precisar (é sua grana!) e só depois confirmei a transação.

Um detalhe para devs: quando inseri meu endereço ETH, que é enorme, notei um bugzinho no scroll horizontal. Nada grave, mas fica a dica para melhorar. Fora isso, tudo funcionou perfeitamente.

Sempre gosto de inspecionar as transações da hive que usam a Active Key, ainda mais em sites novos que nâo conheço ainda. Clicando em Data na hora de assinar a transação, você consegue analisar o que será transmitido para a Blockchain Hive.
Poucos segundos depois voltei na minha Zerion e lá estavam meus tokens Hive e HBD disponĂveis.

Sensação boa de ver a ponte funcionando. Agora estou pensando até em mandar uns tokens para um amigo maximalista de ETH só para ver a reação dele.
Outra coisa que achei interessante que ainda quero testar foi possibilidade de ter sHBD, ou seja, ter HBD lĂquido para transferir, mas ainda ter vantagem do APR do Savings.
No geral, curti bastante a experiĂŞncia. A proposta da VSC Ă© bem interessante porque ela simplifica essa interoperabilidade entre ecossistemas.
Caso você já vive no mundo DeFi vai achar bem intuitivo. Se não, lendo esse relato já dá para ter uma ideia de como é tranquilo.

Acompanhei a VSC desde os primeiros anúncios e dá para ver que eles querem ir muito além de simples transferências de tokens. A missão é clara: levar a Hive para um novo patamar, com contratos inteligentes e integração com outras redes.
Sempre achei Hive uma das melhores Blockchains, coisas que existem nela outras redes ainda lutam para conseguir fazer, mas ela ainda está muito isolada.
Acredito que agora com a VSC, isso pode mudar com essa nova camada cross-chain para conectar Hive com redes como Bitcoin e Ethereum.
Imaginar a Hive como um hub DeFi com ferramentas fáceis de usar, sem complicar a vida do usuário e depois dessa experiência com Altera posso dizer que eles estão no caminho certo.
