On Wednesday, all rested up and fully camped out, we were finally ready to explore the full festival grounds and Salmo River trail. You'll see from my epic step counts that this will be an action-packed weekend up in Canada at Shambhala!
I started the day with 10am yoga and then headed back to camp to meet with the rest of my group. We made brunch, grabbed the floating, and headed out to the "beach" to bask in the sun and float the river. I didn't bring my phone out for pictures, but the vibes were great.
The water was cold and refreshing, rushing down off the Canadian Rockies. Music from both sides of the river and a nice current to take you a ways downstream along part of the festival campgrounds on the riverbanks. Unreal!!
The US just couldn't put on a festival with this much nature on hand without destroying their surroundings. The difference between the two countries is so plain to see. No alcohol and endless branding all over the festival grounds. Instead, paint by number murals, signs about protected the wildlife around the river, and fresh flowers without litter in sight. The US could never. So sad!!
Look how close to 20K! If I'd been able to bring my FitBit with me while floating the river and splashing around on the banks, I'd have made 20K easily. But alas, it has a big crack and any water would be fatal. None of the mainstages are open on Wednesday, so the day was all about playing around in the festival grounds. Stages open up tomorrow. Until next time...
