As the second wave of this pandemic rages another health concern looms ever more pressing to the front of many minds.
It’s the sedentary lifestyle, an epidemic that’s sweeping across the world as people lockdown, stay put, work from home, and connect via the internet.
Previous to the the COVID-19 pandemic our sitting way of life was already out of control. Now this trend could be even more of a concern... especially if your from a winter weather country like I am.
Although it’s become all to easy to stay home and lounge I think there is a counter trend forming. Getting outdoors is actually becoming a thing! I’ve taken my whole family on outdoor adventures away from crowds and away from the complacent lull of the t.v. this fall. We have enjoyed the fresh air and each other and I’ve noticed other families doing the same! I guess being cooped up indoors away from people can get pretty boring.
So even though we have more opportunities than ever to live and work in sedentary ways... now is the time to begin discovering a new way (or is it actually an old way?) of life. One where walking is much more a part of what we do each day!
So it is on this note I would like to inform those of you reading these words who are new to my blog about an opportunity to WIN!
Doctors around the glob are telling us to combat the negative health effects of a sedentary lifestyle with a 10,000 step goal.
In alignment with this goal I launched the #AutomaticWin Initiative and more recently the #Win Initiative!
Here’s how it works:
• Get 10,000 steps with the @Actifit dApp.
• When you do it snap a screen capture of your step count and the current time as proof that you reached your goal!
• When you publish your @Actifit Report to the Hive Blockchain include the screen capture and either the #AutomaticWin or the #Win hashtag depending on when you reached your goal! (See bellow for how to determine which hashtag to use.)

Living a health focused lifestyle doesn’t have to be something you do alone by yourself! This step initiative is fun and you will likely find that the steps you are taking will come that much easier when you have a common goal to focus on!
