Hello Hivians!
Actually, this post was supposed to go online here the Sunday before last. Unfortunately, an accident with my MTB interfered with this plan. After a short rest, not recovery, I wrote this post, better late than never. 😉 Then the software at Ecency went on strike. After that I tried PeakD. The software doesn't run any better, a draft was not saved. Once the software is up and running again, everything should go according to plan and a post from me should appear every Sunday.
Today I'll show you a summary of my IR photos from the last few weeks.

This time I used filters for a wavelength of 550nm and 650nm.
I use a MEIKE Drop-In Filter Mount Adapter EF to Z-Mount on my NIKON Z5. This allows a quick filter change. I can also continue to use my existing CANON lenses. The frames for the drop-in filters were 3D-printed for me by @Lichtkunstfoto. I ordered the matching filters with a diameter of 48mm from the Chinaman. I fitted these into the printed frames. I fitted a plastic box with foam rubber so that everything could be nicely organized and not damaged on the way. I put the infrared filter assortment in there.

Post-processing is at least as important as the IR photos. Darktable offers endless possibilities and I am still in the learning phase, although the learning curve is very flat. Just a mouse click away are the first two images. They are the same shot in RAW format. It took me several hours to process them. It will take some more time before Darktable becomes my friend. Practice makes perfect. So don't give up! Let's move on!

Last weekend I welcomed @lichtkunstfoto to my home to perform a lightpainting on Saturday together with @stepko and Hans Roufflair. Unfortunately, the plan literally fell through. However, @lichtkunstfoto and I used the time and went on a round trip around Steinhagen together. The weather was perfect for IR photography. So we set off with our IR equipment.
First we visited an old watermill a few kilometers from our house. The pictures above and below were taken at the mill pond.

Afterwards we visited the moated castle Tatenhausen. @lichtkunstfoto wrote about it,
so I won't go into further details about the location here.

We continued on to some lost places. A ruined farmhouse and a lime works. Unfortunately, the locations have lost some of their charm in recent years. That's why I'm showing a photo from times gone by below.

Unfortunately, the dead tree in front of the house was cut down and left there, which takes away the charm of the motif, what a pity.
I hope you enjoyed our little excursion into infrared photography and I'll see you again on my blog next Sunday. So stay tuned!
Also bleib dran!
