Last week, I reported on Pedrão's passion for collecting. Today is the second and, for the time being, last part of this series, as we have now returned to cold Europe.

Heute folgt der zweite und vorläufig letzte Teil dieser Serie, da wir inzwischen wieder im kalten Europa gelandet sind.

The third evening at Pedrão was the most productive.
Positioning three vehicles, setting up the camera and finishing the light painting in just 2 hours speaks for a well-coordinated team. You could also say that the NOCTIGON DM11 is my favourite lamp, as often as I use it. As there wasn't much space between the vehicles, I preferred to use this lamp to focus the light. I moved the lamp quickly back and forth like a small paintbrush to distribute the light on the van as evenly as possible.
Chris took a seat in the vehicle beforehand and briefly switched on the headlights at my signal. Finally, I brought Chris into the picture in colour fade mode with the help of a black glass fibre on a RGB CRITTER. The whole thing was not so easy, as this was done through the open side window for reasons of space.
Der Dritte Abend bei Pedrão war der produktivste. In nur 2h drei Fahrzeuge positionieren, Kamera einstellen und das Lightpainting fertig stellen spricht für ein gut eingespieltes Team. Man könnte auch meinen, dass die NOCTIGON DM11 meine Lieblingslampe ist, so oft, wie ich diese Lampe einsetze. Da nicht viel Platz zwischen den Fahrzeugen vorhanden war, setzte ich diese Lampe am liebsten ein, um das Licht zu fokussieren. Ich bewegte die Lampe wie einen kleinen Pinsel schnell hin und her, um das Licht auf dem Bulli möglichst gleichmäßig zu verteilen.
Chris hat vorher Platz im Fahrzeug genommen und auf mein Zeichen die Scheinwerfer kurz eingeschaltet. Zum Schluss habe ich Chris mit Hilfe einem schwarzen Glasfaser an einer Ameisenlampe im Farb-Fade-Mode ins Bild gebracht. Das ganze war nicht so einfach, da dies aus Platzgründen durch das geöffnete Seitenfenster erfolgte.

This time I wanted to take a camera rotation home with me. As we only had two hours, one attempt had to be enough. I would have liked to have had just four spotlights in the picture, but unfortunately that didn't work out on the first attempt. I'll take more time for it next time. But I was quite happy with the picture for a spontaneous attempt.
Diesmal wollte ich noch eine Kamerarotation mit nach Hause nehmen. Da wir nur zwei Stunden Zeit hatten, musste ein Versuch reichen. Gern hätte ich nur vier Scheinwerfer im Bild gehabt, das hat leider nicht beim ersten Versuch geklappt. Beim nächsten Mal nehme ich mir mehr Zeit dafür. Für einen spontanen Versuch war ich aber ganz zufrieden mit dem Bild.

Chris as the driver of the Ford Mustang. I photographed the engine with the bonnet open. I hung my black jacket over the top of the bonnet so that the reflections inside the bonnet would not be visible to the camera. The bonnet was then closed, the headlights switched on for a second and the Mustang exposed with a NOCTIGON DM11 as described above.
Chris als Fahrer des Ford Mustang. Den Motor habe ich bei offener Motorhaube belichtet. Dabei habe ich meine schwarze Jacke oben über die Motorhaube gehängt, damit die Reflexionen im inneren der Motorhaube nicht für die Kamera sichtbar werden. Danach wurde die Motorhaube geschlossen, die Scheinwerfer für eine Sekunde eingeschaltet und der Mustang, wie oben beschrieben, mit einer NOCTIGON DM11 belichtet.

Admittedly, the vehicle really appealed to me. I really wanted to bring the horses into the picture in more detail. I also love the colour combination with the orange and carbon. I spontaneously decided to emphasise the details in a camera rotation. So I positioned the camera at the height of the horse and rotated the camera in 90° increments. I lit the horse and the part of the bonnet with a NOCTIGON DM11 from the top right.
Zugegeben, das Fahrzeug reizte mich sehr. Unbedingt wollte ich die Pferdchen detaillierter ins Bild bringen. Auch die Farbkombination mit dem Orange und Carbon finde ich toll. Spontan entschloss ich mich, die Details in einer Kamerarotation zur Geltung zu bringen. Also positionierte ich die Kamera in Höhe des Pferdes und rotierte die Kamera im 90° -Schritten. Das Pferd und den Teil der Motorhaube beleuchtet ich mit einer NOCTIGON DM11 von rechts oben.

Then there was a second Mustang. A convertible. It was a pleasure to enjoy the sound when we parked the car. We parked it right in front of the gate. It was slightly sloping to give us a better view of the bonnet. The lanterns shone orange from the street. I decided to illuminate the garage with the NOCTIGON DM11 with a blue colour filter. I proceeded in exactly the same way with the engine as with the previous model. Only this time I used an orange colour filter. I illuminated the vehicle itself with the NOCTIGON DM11 without a colour filter.
This picture concludes the series for the time being.

Dann gab es da noch einen zweiten Mustang. Ein Cabrio. Es war ein Genuss dem Sound beim Umparken des Fahrzeuges zu genießen. Wir platzierten ihn direkt vor dem Tor. Etwas abschüssig, für einen besseren Blick auf die Haube. Von der Strasse leuchteten die Laternen orange hinein. Ich entschied mich, die Garage mit der NOCTIGON DM11 mit blauen Farbfilter zu beleuchten. Bei dem Motor ging ich genau so wie beim Vorgänger vor. Nur setzte ich diesmal einen orangenen Farbfilter ein. Das Fahrzeug selbst beleuchtete ich mit der NOCTIGON DM11 ohne Farbfilter.
Mit diesem Bild möchte ich die Serie vorläufig beenden. Nächste Woche Sonntag widme ich mich anderen Themen des Lightpaintings. Also bleibt dran!
What Is Light Painting?
Light painting is a unique art form. As a rule, the darkness is illuminated by the artist with various light sources and traces of light are painted into the picture with various lighting tools. Various techniques are used, such as camera rotation or other movements of the camera during exposure. The creative possibilities are almost unlimited. When using ND filters, this technique can also be used in daylight. All images were taken during a single exposure. Apart from denoising, sharpening, cropping and possibly adjusting the white balance, the images are not processed on the computer.
Lichtmalerei ist eine einzigartige Kunstform. In der Regel wird die Dunkelheit mit diversen Lichtquellen vom Künstler ausgeleuchtet und Lichtspuren mit diversen Lichtwerkzeugen ins Bild gemalt. Dabei kommen verschiedene Techniken zum Einsatz, wie Kamerarotation oder andere Bewegungen der Kamera während der Belichtung. Die kreativen Möglichkeiten sind nahezu unbegrenzt. Bei Einsatz von ND-Filtern kann diese Technik auch bei Tageslicht angewand werden. Alle Bilder wurden während einer einzigen Belichtung aufgenommen. Abgesehen vom Entrauschen, Schärfen, Beschneiden und eventuellem Anpassen des Weißabgleichs werden die Bilder nicht am Computer bearbeitet.
