Straight and strict warning; Red wine, White Wine, Blue or Pink wine provided it has alcohol, it isn't good for your heart. No amount of alcohol is good for your heart. Some of you can find justification for anything including alcohol drinking so before you start, let me say it again that no matter the type, be it beer, spirit, vodka, terquila, white wine, red wine, dark ale, bitters, or any other form of alcohol, it is completely against you and your heart.
When you take alcohol, the very first sip begins to act on your body. You don’t have to start staggering before your body suffers the effects of alcohol but because a lot of you just want to drink alcohol by all means, you begin to say that alcohol has its role to play in the body like gin being the motivator to start a party, beer as the stress relaxer, and red wine being the heart medicine. Like how did we get here?
Anyways, when you take alcohol, your blood pressure immediately increases. According to the American Heart Association (AHA), a small amount of alcohol is very harmful to the heart. When you decide to take it every time, it means that your blood pressure will always be at the moon, and extended high blood pressure is a risk factor for stroke and heart disease.
It is very surprising to see that a lot of people who have predisposed heart issues or have a family history of people with heart disease still take alcohol. There is never a safe line when taking it, any amount can trigger an issue leading to heart problems. Drinking alcohol over time can damage the muscles of the heart, weakening how the heart pumps blood, leading to Alcoholic cardiomyopathy as a result of the heart muscles getting weak, stretched, and tired which can lead to heart failure.
Reference
People suffering from cardiac arrhythmias can have issues when they drink alcohol as it can trigger a situation where the heart rhythm beats irregularly. Long-term intake of alcohol can lead to rigidity of the blood vessels as a result of inflammation or plaques. This reduces the amount of blood that flows to the heart and other parts of the body.
If you take alcohol, then you should stop because it is not good for your heart in any way and if you are in the group of people who haven't started drinking like me, then it is better to remain that way.
