I have seen my father take good care of dogs since I was a child. I saw him talk to them, and even give them treats. Maybe it is the reason behind my love for pets too. It all started when I was 10 years. I had a dog, but I also saw him die in front of me due to poisoning. We did not know who did it, but we are positive that it was intentional.
After that experience, I got traumatized and did not even try to love a dog deeply again. And I think it was my defence mechanism kicking in especially because I got hurt too bad back then. But it does not mean that I do not take care of dogs and appreciate them, because I still do – not just too much.
Last week, my Papa went home with another member of our growing family. As usual, we welcomed the baby with our wide arms and warm hugs. She is a little girl, with a beautiful pair of eyes.
She is not too shy like the others that we adopted, because she seemed to be so active and sweet when she got here. I asked my Mama where did they got our new doggo, and they said that it was from my Papa’s close friend. Their dog gave birth and decided to give us one that is a female since our pets were mostly males.
My nephew felt so happy because of the new member of our family. The youngest dog we have before this cutie came was already big enough so they could not play with him that much anymore. The first people who felt excited were the kids because they will not have another playmate.
Until now, she is still so little and is active in terms of running and playing with us. There are times when she sleeps with me, or with my brother. It depends on who she goes to at night.
Also, there are moments when she sleeps with my Mama and Papa, as she is still a baby. It was nice taking care of her and I think we must take advantage of her cuteness while she is still younger because once she gets older, she may be playing with other dogs than with us.
Please say hi to our cutie little baby and give her a warm welcome too.
