On February 3, 2021, I wrote a post about a couple of cats that used to visit my house looking for food. They would stand in front of the house and meow, until they achieved their goal. This pair of cats would go from house to house and could go months without seeing them. The white cat that appears in my previous post, did not come back for a long time, he looked quite old and I assume that he is no longer alive, but I could be wrong. This other cat, which we call Misu, keeps coming back, but now he looks more like my pet.
El 3 de febrero del 2021, escribí un post sobre un par de gatos que solían visitar mi casa en busca de comida. Se paraban en frente de la casa a maullar, hasta lograr su objetivo. Este par de gatos iban de casa en casa y podían pasar meses sin verlos. El gato blanco que aparece en mi anterior post, no volvió más desde hace tiempo, se veía que era un gato bastante viejo y asumo que ya no está vivo, pero me puedo equivocar. Este otro gato, al cual llamamos Misu, sigue viniendo, pero ahora parece más mi mascota.
Misu doesn't like to stay inside the house, preferring to sleep in the front yard or under the neighbor's car. Opening the door of the house facing the yard tells Misu that it's time to eat. He starts making different sounds until he gets the family's attention. One of my brothers tried to keep him at home and whenever he eats, he leaves and stays on the other side of the gate waiting or lies down to rest.
No le gusta quedarse adentro de la casa, prefiere dormir en el jardín del frente de la casa o debajo del auto del vecino. Abrir la puerta de la casa que da hacia el patio es decirle a Misu que es hora de comer. Comienza a realizar diferentes sonidos hasta que capta la atención de la familia. Uno de mis hermanos intento que se quedara en casa y siempre que come, se va y se queda del otro lado de la reja esperando o se acuesta a reposar.
Misu went from being that cat from the street to the unofficial house pet and I say that because he really likes to be close to the house, but not inside and I understand that cats are free spirits, but with Misu I have seen how he prefers to be like that, being respectful, because so far I haven't found pupu or pee smell at home or in the garden, so I don't have to worry about that part.
Misu pasó a ser ese gato de la calle a la mascota no oficial de la casa y lo digo así porque realmente le gusta estar cerca de la casa, pero no adentro y entiendo que los gatos son espíritus libres, pero con Misu he visto como prefiere estar así, siendo respetuoso, porque hasta los momentos no he encontrado pupú u olor a orine en casa o en el jardín, así que no tengo que preocuparme por esa parte.
We have called him Misu so many times, that he already listens to that name. We can say other things to them, but saying Misu is activating him. It's funny when he's not in the area and he hears a sound from the house, it's only a matter of seconds before he comes out of the house and comes running, even if it's not to give him food. When he leaves the house, the first thing Misu does is to mark his territory on his legs.
Lo hemos llamado tantas veces Misu, que ya hace caso a ese nombre. Podemos decirles otras cosas, pero al decir Misu es activarlo. Es cómico cuando no está en el área y escucha algún sonido de la casa, solo es cuestión de segundos para que salga de donde este y venga corriendo así no sea para darle comida. Al salir de casa, lo primero que hace Misu es marcar territorito en las piernas.
Some say that I have the advantage of having a pet without all the worries or responsibilities that really comes with having one. In all these years I don't know if Misu already has a home, although it doesn't seem so, the truth is that between all the neighbors we have given them love in some way and take care of him. There have not been more cats, it has only been Misu and it is something that has caused me curiosity, although his personality is so calm, that it does not surprise me that he does not seek to relate with other cats, not even in periods of heat.
Algunos dicen que tengo la ventaja de tener una mascota sin todas las preocupaciones o responsabilidades que realmente conlleva tener una. En todos estos años no se si Misu tiene ya un hogar, aunque no parece, lo cierto es que entre todos los vecinos les hemos dado amor de alguna forma y cuidarlo. No han venido más gatos, solo ha sido Misu y es algo que me ha causado curiosidad, aunque su personalidad es tan tranquila, que no me extraña que no busque relacionarse con otros gatos, ni en periodos de celo.
I wanted to share an update, it's been 2 years since I wrote about this kitten, but he has been living around these places for almost 6 years. Now we just have to wait and see how far this relationship goes, while I continue to enjoy those moments that only pets know how to give.
Quería compartir una actualización, ya han pasado 2 años desde que escribí sobre este gatito, pero tiene casi 6 años viviendo por estos lados. Ya solo queda esperar a ver hasta dónde llega esta relación, mientras sigo disfrutando de esos momentos que solo los animales saben dar.
