Hello friends of this beautiful community. Today I want to tell you the story of Arcoíris.
2 months ago my sister visited us, she traveled from Barquisimeto/State Lara to here in San Felipe/State Yaracuy, Venezuela, and she brought a gift to Leila, (my granddaughter), a beautiful colorful parrot, when she gave it to the little girl the first thing she said was "That's a RAINBOW". We were all amazed at Leila's reaction when she saw the parrot, my sister did not have any name for that parrot and from that very day it was called "ARCOIRIS" by Leila.
We commented that we should buy him a cage before it got dark and my sister said NO!
No need, said my sister, he likes freedom, he is used to walk around the house. Since then the parrot stayed in this family and he really walks from one place to another as if he was a dog, hahahaha.
He eats everything.
But you have to be careful because he makes a lot of mess, the food if we put it in one place, although Leila always gives him what she is eating at that moment, cookies, fruits, vegetables, arepa, cereal, etc., and you have to be aware of picking up the crumbs he leaves, plus he makes his needs everywhere.
In spite of all this, we made the decision among all the members of the family to leave him free to move around all the spaces in the house, making sure that he does not dirty or damage delicate things with his beak
In front of the porch of the house there is a school, and he loves to be there observing the activities of the children and teachers (recreational activities that take place in the school's playground).
He likes to sleep early, to sleep if we conditioned him a box so he does not get cold, but that box is always changing places, sometimes he sleeps in my daughter's room and sometimes in the girl's room or in mine, we all want him to sleep with us, so we do not take turns, hahahaha.
That parrot is a sweetheart, he understands a lot, everyone who comes to visit us is delighted with him, although he still doesn't say a single word, we still don't know why he doesn't learn to speak, but he whistles every day.
When we walk from one place to another, he follows us, he likes to play with the little girl. When we go out and he feels us coming he starts to squeal very loudly, it is the happiness he expresses when we come back from any outing.
So far this little story of this adorable pet named "ARCOIRIS", I hope to continue telling you the experiences and anecdotes of this amazing and wonderful little animal!
