Hello my wonderful Steemians!
First off, sorry for the scattered mind. If I had been thinking straight I would not have started a 'series' and then leave on vacation. I had the idea stuck in my head and went with it. We will be back on track with The Four Agreements next week and I will recap what we discussed. I really want to make sure I do a good job with this.
For this week, I've decided to talk a little bit about selfcare. This always be a topic, there are so many things we can do to take care of ourselves. Sometimes there are things we actually need to do, but don't actually notice it or don't listen to our own complaints.

When life starts to become overwhelming or stressful, what is one of the first things to come to our mind? 'I want to run away.'? 'I need a vacation.'? I know that I do this. The past year that is all anyone heard from me. Part of the reason I had not taken anytime away was that I was saving money for my daughter's graduation. I have to say, this was the best vacation I think I have had. We spent last week in Philadelphia to attend my daughter's graduation. This past Thursday we flew back, stayed the night (morning in Denver) drove home, packed again and went to spend the next few days in Las Vegas with my husbands family.
We stayed busy the whole trip.I guess the best way to put this is I had an epiphany. It is amazing what you can do when you work to unclutter your mind and focus on the current. When thoughts came up in my mind, I did like I do with multiple tabs open. I started closing the tabs. I didn't let my mind wander in that aspect.
When I walked in the door on our little layover before heading to Las Vegas I knew exactly what I need to do to get out of my current work environment. I actually really like what I do. The stress of not getting paid, the stress of being told every week that the business is going to close, the owner's bad attitude towards money is more than anyone should put up with. Why live with the stress, it's not worth it. Nothing is. This week I have a basic idea of what I need to do to accomplish this goal. I just couldn't see this before because of being stressed and I was making an emotional decision due to others

To recap a little, self care is of major importance. As I am reminded of or come across something new ideas to take care of yourself I will post about it. This is my greatest downfall. I have always put everyone before myself. Let me pose these questions to you. If you don't take care of you then how to you have enough to take care of someone else? Or If you don't love yourself, how to expect someone to love you? Is this harsh? Not really, just read the words and look at the logic of the statements don't read beyond them. Your state of being impacts everyone you come in contact with. So if you are grumpy or stressed that is what you pass on to others. If you're smiling you will notices others will start smiling. Being in a well state or a state of mindfulness will come across to those around you too.
Remember to take a break. Even if it is an afternoon in a park. Work on spending peaceful time away from your home. Look for historical sights near you to visit. Take pictures, build a memory. Positive memories are better than negative ones. I don't know about you, but I would rather remember the day at the aquarium with my daughter than working in a place where the employees do not matter.
