Among any crypto-currency except bitcoin, NEO is one of my favorite one with good fundamentals, growing dev community and network in 2017, with DBFT (alike with DPOS) and smart contract protocol application like ETH does. However the price of NEO is not very attractive comparing to when I first observed around $2 (was named Antcoin by that time). Currently some projects are launched on top of NEO protocol but they are very new. Looking at the good potential projects related to NEO, there are two that I found has a high expected return in 2018, one is ONT & NEX.
ONT (Ontology) is a trust system for assets, ID & data blockchain service. ONT is currently on the NEO blockchain but will launch its own blockchain later this year. The success of ONT relies on its adaption with the real-world especially with the governments, banks & enterprises. NEO is one of the assets class in ONT so they both enhance each other.
I think it is a good focus point they are not trying to be another NEO or ETH. One small thing that I realized is that ONT is the only crypto project twitted on neo founders twitter @dahongfei also Dafonghei promotes ONT in different talks too, and from that I can see some correlations with ONT and Neo.
Current price of ONT is $1.35 and I have been waiting for the airdrop to finish on 17 March and for all the weak-hands to sell their free coin. I think it has a high expected return now at the price of $1.35, and hold it for 2018.
Another good potential project I am looking forward to is NEX, Decentralized exchange base on NEO protocol and the founder are the NEO Dev community team Zion founders too. Currently open for KYC registering on its ICO, closed few days later at 30 Mar. It goes with the lucky draw for the ICO & maximum $1000 USD contribution (There are second rounds up to $9000 maximum but it should not be likely to happened). Price of NEX public sale is $1.0 & ICO date probably on April or May. Another good project in 2018.
The above two has quite high expected return in terms of investment reward / risk ratio. There are still risks for investing, but the rewards are rather high in my opinion.
