Artificial Intelligence (AI) is definitely a culprit in the debacle on the HubPages writing platform. The higher-ups there have been taking people's articles from the DiscoverHubPages site without anyone's permission and using AI to recycle them on the Owlcation site, which is one of the Network sites of HubPages. Fortunately, a number of HubPages writers have copyright attorneys on retainer and have communicated with everyone in the group, including me, about the prospect of resorting to civil litigation if all else fails. I personally would like to see the debacle resolved informally to the satisfaction of the HubPages writers, because civil actions have a way of dragging on forever.
By the way, holoz0r? What are your impressions about the Media writing platform? I've been getting different feedback about it. Some people describe it as though it is a goldmine for writers to make lots of money off their articles. Others claim that it is just another money pit where writers don't make squat on their articles. I've been considering joining Medium for a while, but I don't know whether it is really worth it or not.
I heard that one has to pay a $5.00 a month fee in order to make any significant amount of money with their articles on the Medium writing platform. I don't like that idea, because in my humble opinion, writing sites shouldn't charge any fees to their writers. Then again, if I could make a whole bundle off of my articles, I'd be willing to give it a try. Let me know what your thoughts are.
You're right about Hive. On this writing platform, you don't have to deal with any editors overseeing your articles before they're published. The only drawback here is that your articles stop earning money after 7 days, whereas on traditional writing platforms your articles can make money indefinitely. It's a give-and-take situation, but the fact that the Hive blockchain, unlike other writing platforms, doesn't impose censorship on its writers is good enough for me to publish here on this writing platform whenever I decide to publish something highly controversial.
