Hello HIVEs!
While searching for lightpainting themes, I came across some archive images that I almost forgot to present here. During my last stay in Brazil, my wife and I spent a few days on the beach in Bertioga (SP-Brazil). We had rented a room in a posada between two beaches. One beach was surrounded by residential silos with luxurious holiday flats. The other was deserted and empty.
Auf der Suche nach Lightpainting-Themen, bin ich auf einige Archivbilder gestoßen, die ich fast vergessen hätte, hier zu präsentieren. Während des letzten Aufenthaltes in Brasilien, verbrachte meine Frau und ich ein paar Tage am Strand von Bertioga (SP-Brasilien). Dort hatten wir uns ein Zimmer in einer Posada zwischen zwei Stränden gemietet. Der eine Strand war umsäumt von Wohnsilos mit luxuriösen Ferienwohnungen. Der andere verlassen und menschenleer.

I visited the latter beach at 2:00 in the morning. Beforehand, I had used the Photopills and weather apps to find out whether I would be able to see the Milky Way there.
There is also a small cave there that can be reached on dry land at low tide. Unfortunately, the water was rising when I arrived, so I had to cross this motif off my list. On the cover picture you can see the clouds that came up shortly before sunrise. So once again there was no Milky Way.
Letzteren Strand besuchte ich dann morgens um 2:00 Uhr. Zuvor hatte ich die Photopills- und die Wetterapp bemüht, um herauszufinden, ob ich dort die Milchstrasse zu sehen bekomme. Es gibt dort auch eine kleine Höhle, die bei Ebbe trockenen Fußes zu erreichen ist. Leider stieg das Wasser zu dem Zeitpunkt meiner Ankunft, so dass ich dieses Motiv von meiner Liste streichen mußte. Auf dem Titelbild sind die Wolken zu sehen, die kurz vor Sonnenaufgang aufzogen. Milchstrasse war also wieder nicht drin.

The cloud cover opened up from time to time. The stars did appear briefly in the picture above.
During the shots on the shallow beach, I had the problem that larger waves reached very far onto the beach and sometimes washed over the tripod. If this happened, I had to cancel the shot immediately because the position of the camera would change.
I painted the orb into the picture at aperture 16. For the stars, I opened the aperture to 2.8 for 25 seconds.
Ab und zu öffnete sich die Wolkendecke. Auf dem Bild oben zeigten sich dann doch kurz die Sterne.
Während der Aufnahmen am flachen Strand hatte ich das Problem, dass größere Wellen sehr weit auf den Strand reichten und unter Umständen das Stativ umspülten. Wenn dies eintrat, musste ich die Aufnahme sofort abbrechen, weil sich dadurch die Position der Kamera änderte.
Den Orb malte ich bei Blende 16 ins Bild. Für die Sterne öffnete ich die Blende für 25 Sekunden auf 2.8.

in the first part of this post
I also mentioned that the tool is not easy to use and requires a lot of practice.
The sun was already rising in the following picture. Some couples came to the beach to enjoy the sunrise together. It was time for me to pack my things and head back to Posada.

Auch, dass die Handhabung des Tools nicht einfach ist und sehr viel Übung bedarf.
Auf dem folgenden Bild ging die Sonne bereits auf. Einige Pärchen kamen an den Strand, um den Sonnenaufgang gemeinsam zu genießen. Für mich war es Zeit meine Sachen zu packen und zurück zu Posada zu gehen.

The Tool
The picture below shows a ball-of-light tool. It consists of a control unit, a cable and balls with coloured LEDs. The control unit contains a 9V battery, a button to switch on the LEDs and a potentiometer with which the brightness of the LEDs can be adjusted.
Auf dem Bild unten zeige ich ein Ball-Of-Light-Tool. Es bestehend aus einem Steuergerät, einem Kabel und Bällen mit farbigen LEDs. In dem Steuergerät befindet sich eine 9V Batterie, ein Taster zum Einschalten der LEDs und ein Potentiometer, mit dem die Helligkeit der LEDs eingestellt werden kann.

Addendum (2024-01-21 / 15:30 CET): The video function does not seem to work on Ecency yet. I am currently uploading the video for the second time. If it still does not work, I will not use this function in future. I will then link the videos to Youtube.

Ergänzung (2024-01-21 / 15:30 MEZ): Die Videofunktion scheint auf Ecency noch nicht zu funktionieren. Ich lade das Video gerade zum zweiten Mal hoch. Sollte es dann immer noch nicht laufen, verzichte ich in Zukunft auf diese Funktion. Ich werde die Videos dann auf Youtube verlinken.

What Is Light Painting?
Light painting is a unique art form. As a rule, the darkness is illuminated by the artist with various light sources and traces of light are painted into the picture with various lighting tools. Various techniques are used, such as camera rotation or other movements of the camera during exposure. The creative possibilities are almost unlimited. When using ND filters, this technique can also be used in daylight. All images were taken during a single exposure. Apart from denoising, sharpening, cropping and possibly adjusting the white balance, the images are not processed on the computer.
Lichtmalerei ist eine einzigartige Kunstform. In der Regel wird die Dunkelheit mit diversen Lichtquellen vom Künstler ausgeleuchtet und Lichtspuren mit diversen Lichtwerkzeugen ins Bild gemalt. Dabei kommen verschiedene Techniken zum Einsatz, wie Kamerarotation oder andere Bewegungen der Kamera während der Belichtung. Die kreativen Möglichkeiten sind nahezu unbegrenzt. Bei Einsatz von ND-Filtern kann diese Technik auch bei Tageslicht angewand werden. Alle Bilder wurden während einer einzigen Belichtung aufgenommen. Abgesehen vom Entrauschen, Schärfen, Beschneiden und eventuellem Anpassen des Weißabgleichs werden die Bilder nicht am Computer bearbeitet.
