I got a few other things in the mail over this past week besides some amazing cookies and a Secret Santa drop. One, was a card from ol' Lemon Drop! Totally was unexpected and appreciated. Look at her and her cute widdo o doggies! You can even see their stockings hung behind them on the mantle - nice touch to the photo! Happy Holidays to you and yours too hun! 🤗

Something else that came in the mail, was upon the insistence of 'our' mom. If anyone knows @snook, and how she has an uncanny way of making you do things, then you can only imagine what our mom is like. Sis must have told her about how I had no ornaments or even a tree or maybe she read the post I made a little while back about it. Either way, she was sending some heirlooms along through the branches.

I say heirlooms and not to take that term lightly. Some of the things in the box I got will be kept forever and build their own histories along the way. Some will be passed on to other limbs and some, are already being used as toys for little parades and performances. So, let's see what's in the box!

Upon opening the package, I found a card, several crates of something and a few boxes that could only be ornaments. Which kind? I wouldn't know until I opened them up, but they all 'hit home'. Especially the last one down there at the end of this post. It's the one that kept the whole thing from being a crying mess as it made me smile and giggle.

Normally, I don't show off cards as much, but this one deserves a little extra attention because mommy wrote it. Thanks mom, I wasn't expecting anything! Beautiful card and hand written sentiment to go with it. 😍

These were given to mom by sis over a decade ago and now are passed on to me. Love it. The Nutcracker is one of my favorite all time and I love the characters they chose to put in the collection. Also a huge fan of A Christmas Carol! Which ghostie is your fav? I'm all about the ghost of Christmas Present because he's all "Come in and know me better man!" And who can remember a Christmas without at least once hearing the poem, 'Twas the Night Before Christmas? I relate more to settling down for a long winter's nap now than with sugarplums in my brain. 😇

The cute little reindeer there, have been turned into toys for the time being, and dance about the tree like someone helping the Elf on the Shelf. The cardinal and wood duck will be regifted to my parents, as for each of them, it is ironically their favorite birds. My mom loves cardinals and my dad used to do wood burning artwork of wood ducks before the carpel tunnel syndrome took his skills.

The beaded ones are quite the travelers and those angels must have been watching over mom for a long time. I hear, pray tell, that along with the peacock, they have been to multiple countries and originally hail from Spain. Adore the peacock. I'm not sure if that was on purpose to accentuate the PIMP in me or what, but awesome choice there!
