Que tal amigos y curiosos! Hoy vengo a hablar de un tema sensible y muy importante. La depresión. La vez pasada hablé sobre Salud Mental AQUÍ, es un post que les recomiendo en adición a éste. Son temas que están conectados. La salud mental no es menos importante que la física.
Hay muchísimas situaciones y condiciones que pueden llevar a la depresión. Las situaciones emocionalmente disruptivas pueden generar traumas o cambios permanentes en nuestra actitud. Pero algunas experiencias pueden marcarnos profundamente. También existen predisposiciones genéticas y desbalances químicos. Cuando un hecho en particular nos genera un daño profundo nuestra forma de ver la realidad cambia drásticamente. Primero quiero aclarar que no hay nada de lo que avergonzarse. Somos seres humanos, llenos de fallas y traumas. Es posible que tengas un montón de destrezas y virtudes que te hagan valioso. Es muy importante que busques ayuda si la situación te resulta insostenible. No hay debilidad en ir a tratar una herida al hospital, aplica la misma regla a la salud mental.

No es una cuestión de fuerza, o disciplina. La depresión es una condición real con consecuencias reales. Para lidiar con eso puede que necesites asistencia profesional. Si no el cansancio y el desgaste pueden empeorar la situación. A veces nos chocamos con un entorno hostil, por ejemplo, ayer mismo, tuve a mi vecino de arriba tirando la pared de su casa. Fueron siete horas con martillazos sobre mi cabeza. Pensé que no me había afectado, pero también venía cargando con otros días de tensión. La tensión prolongada y el estrés nos debilita, es importante medir cuánto estrés recibimos y cómo evitarlo siempre que sea posible. Ayer decidí quedarme y apostar a que el ruido termine pronto. Tenía muchas cosas pendientes, como este post y unas ediciones. Tuve que haber salido a hacer otra cosa. Una mala decisión puede consumir un poco de nuestra estamina emocional. Ni siquiera pude hacer el post.

Es importante tener hábitos sanos para evitar la depresión o mitigar su impacto. Hacer ejercicio, comer bien, dormir como corresponde y tener amigos o personas cercanas en quien apoyarte. Hacer una caminata en el parque, escuchar música o lo que a VOS te funcione. Todos somos un pequeño mundo, lo que me sirve a mi no siempre aplica a los demás. En mi caso me hace bien mirar películas y series de comedia o escuchar un género de música específico. Lo importante es también tener hobbies o cosas que nos requieran concentración. Pero para una mayor tranquilidad lo mejor es siempre acercarse a un profesional. En todos los ámbitos de la vida es la mejor opción y esta no es la excepción.

It is very important that you seek help if the situation becomes unsustainable for you. There is no weakness in going to the hospital to treat a wound, the same rule applies to mental health.

It's not a matter of strength, or discipline. Depression is a real condition with real consequences. To deal with it you may need professional assistance. Otherwise, tiredness and exhaustion can make the situation worse. Sometimes we come up against a hostile environment, for example, just yesterday, I had my upstairs neighbor knocking down the wall of his house. It was seven hours of hammering on my head. I thought it hadn't affected me, but I had also been carrying other days of tension. Prolonged tension and stress weaken us, it's important to measure how much stress we receive and how to avoid it whenever possible. Yesterday I decided to stay and bet that the noise will end soon. I had a lot of things pending, like this post and some edits. I should have gone out and done something else. A bad decision can consume a bit of our emotional stamina. I couldn't even make the post.

It is important to have healthy habits to avoid depression or mitigate its impact. Exercise, eat well, sleep properly and have friends or close people to lean on. Take a walk in the park, listen to music or whatever works for YOU. We are all a small world, what works for me does not always apply to others. In my case, it is good for me to watch comedy movies and series or listen to a specific genre of music. It is also important to have hobbies or things that require concentration. But for greater peace of mind, it is always best to approach a professional. In all areas of life it is the best option and this is no exception.
