There was also some smaller news last week, such as @davemccoy being appointed Chief Operating Officer and expanding the Splinterlands team. In addition, there are currently discussions about how the Brawl Frays will be adapted as soon as the new expansion Conclave Arcana is released.
Answers to the last Question:
The last question was “What is your opinion on the new Survial mode?”. A total of 11 people participated and even though there are still two less than last week, I'm happy with that. Thanks for sharing your opinions! There were many interesting opinions about the Survival mode and I would like to present a few here.
I think the new survival mode is def aimed at veterans of the game and not new folks like me so I'm not really interested.
I have read several responses along these lines and I have to agree. For one thing, you need a lot of cards to play the mode successfully, and since all the cards released so far are playable, a Wild Mode so to speak, you need to know them all. This makes it unfriendly for beginners.
I think it’s a great use of cards, even with a small collection if you are not using them on land, disable your main deck and use everything else!
I also have to agree with this and it somewhat alleviates the problem of having too few cards for the mode. I did the same thing myself. I made my “main cards” unplayable for Survival mode, so I don't have to worry about my “main cards” dying.
I liked survival mode, even though with few trials to not waste modern league cards... Some roguelike or dungeon elements.
Got very unlucky in a match where I lost lobb lowland max lvl against a low lvl deck, was never so much humiliated in 4 yrs of spl like in there... Although in my defense my deck synergy made little sense and only played what was possible with a mix of mainly middle lvl cards...
Overall thought fun but kinda difficult against full decks, and still need to wait pool to get into some average, but 'll probably be a tough climb for me...
Yes, the survival mode adds a completely different flavor to the game. It can definitely be a thrill to play your best cards and risk losing them temporarily.
I don't have an opinion about how the mode plays out because I haven't tried it yet. However, I can say that it has already had a positive effect on the price of the cards, especially Chaos Legion cards.
I think that's one thing none of us will complain about. And I think it was also one of the developers' goals with the Survival mode.
My opinion of the Survival mode is mixed. In general, I think the new mode is good for the development of Splinterlands. As already mentioned, it brings a whole new gaming experience and the card prices increase. In addition, players with many cards and a lot of experience can really let off steam in this mode. For me personally, however, the mode is currently nothing. I tried it out and also published a blog about it, but I simply don't have enough cards for it and the rewards in my rating area are also very low. I also don't like it when bots are allowed there.
