People who have a victim mindset often have no Self conscience or awareness, it's just like the opposite, they tend to not be aware of the things happening around them or to them. Because they lack these attributes,
If you are self-aware of the mistakes made and learn from them, then you won't develop the feeling of being the victim of an event.
Most people however have this mindset because they lack some qualities and attributes, definitely having no self awareness and consciousness is one of them, but also having no accountability tend to make these people scared and they often admit that life trauma is as a result of the actions caused by others and not them.
Most of them however do this purposely, playing the poor me card just to receive sympathy and pity from others with nothing going wrong with them.
They tend to avoid taking risks because they are scared to take responsibility for whatever the result might be. And when they finally do and it doesn't work out well then they project the blame on others.
Become aware;
A Lot of people all over the world have this mindset, but few become aware of it, while some find it very difficult to stop or control it. Definitely at some point in our lives we become unsatisfied having trouble coping with problems and feeling powerless to control it, these can lead one into being the victim
Actually everyone is a victim but having negative attitude towards it and attacking others when they want to render some help makes you develop the victim mindset
I've seen countless situations where people tend to use this mindset to destroy friendship and relationships, heck unknowingly to them they tend to destroy themselves.
I see and take life as whatever happens; it's entirely my fault and not someone else's. There was an incident that occurred back then in school when we were asked by the lecturer to take all our belongings including money out from the exam hall. I was 18k and am supposed to send it to someone after the exam.
When he made that statement I decided to follow others and put the money in my bag, then put the bag in the library where my friends put theirs thinking it's more safe and secure.
Unfortunately the library got robbed during the exam and my money was gone. Now when that happened I took full responsibility, I didn't put the blame on the lecturer who gave the orders nor did I curse the library attendant for poor security.
I blamed myself because one;, i could say no to his order and hide the money in my pocket or rather still give the money to the lecturer who made the order to hold it for me till after the exam or better still put my bag in front of the exam hall and watch it closely.
I felt bad for what happened, yes! But I didn't let it crush me. I learned from my mistake and moved forward, trying to correct and make amends.
How to correct Victimization
It's not hereditary, actually it's a mindset that is learnt and that can be corrected.
The first step is; Taking responsibility for your actions and everything you do in life, it's better to first of all think of the circumstances of the actions you going to make, and get ready to accept whatever comes out good or bad
The second actually is; Saying no to something, instructions or orders that you don't want to do especially if it feels like it will cause you harm or get you in trouble at the long run, cause the moment you say yes then blame yourself for whatever happens and not the person who made you do it
The third is; You need to have compassion and self love not for others but for yourself, you need to forgive yourself for whatever mistakes and trauma that occurred in the past. You need to care for yourself and your emotions to help you recover from any problems.
Well in the long run it's all about you and no one else.
