It's that time again. Time for the Poet of the week!

Last Week's Mess and Winner

Last week's contest was a bit of a mess. HiveSQL went down for several days and LeoFinance needs this to show the polls on Threads. Voting was extended to Thursday, but it was hit or miss for many of you trying to vote.

So what to do about the reward.... We did have a clear winner, but many of you couldn't vote. Two suggestions I see from other communities who participate in the Author of the Week program are discarding the winner and giving everyone 15% or re-running the poll. Both of these solutions seem problematic to me. Discarding the winner seems unfair, because they did win, after all, even if it wasn't from many votes, and re-running the poll also seems unfair to the people who submitted poems this past week who would be skipped.

So what I am going to do is accept the results of last week's poll, but decrease the winner's reward from 60% this post to 35% of it. I'll make up for this decrease by sending the winner 5 HSBI. LeoFinance still gets their 20% for managing this program, that leaves 45%. I had been taking the left over to help fund the other rewards I give away to this group, but for this week I will divide that left over 45% among the other 3 poll contestants, giving 15% each.

Last week's winner was @owasco with her poem Tick Tock.

Congratulations!! As a reward, you will receive 35% of the earnings of this post when it pays out in a week (as well as 5 HSBI from me). And the other three poems in the poll will receive 15% each of this post.

The winner of the poll will receive 60% of next week's Poet of the Week post.

20% will also be sent to @weeklytops where it will be used to fund LeoFinance's promotion campaign on Twitter. The final 20% will go to @dbooster for funding rewards given to this group on other posts.
