On the opening of Day #5 of experiencing the results of "hitching my wagon" to the obvious "shooting star" of CubFinance, I have decided to stop what I am doing and write to you about it.
Why?
It is the most incredible "economic engine" I have seen in my lifetime, which includes spending a disproportionate part of the last 3-Ā½ years of it investing into the "cryptosphere."
As it was only "born" literally this past Monday ( 8 March 2021), this little "Cub" is already showing remarkable economic power. If you have been sitting "on the sidelines," as you've watched the "DeFi world" go by, I would encourage you to read this post.
Then, make a perhaps better-informed decision about whether you still want to just sit on the sidelines. Particularly if, like many, you have had some thought that financially it was so far beyond your reach to participate in DeFi that why bother. š¤·āāļøš¤·āāļø
"DeFi for the Masses" is here, with Cub Finance. And it is only just getting started. Participating in this exciting new aspect of the "cryptosphere" should be high up on your "to do" list!

CubFinance: DeFi for the Masses!
On Day #5, I am not intending to give you a "blow-by-blow" guide on how to get involved, etc. Many others have already done a very nice job of covering that.
For my own reference in the future (see my Close ...), as well as for your benefit, I thought you might find some potential value in "seeing through my eyes" what Cub Finance appears in these early days to represent.
"Right out of the box" we all form vitally important first impressions. As I used to say long ago, to the teams I trained:
"You have one chance to make a good first impression! It is all uphill or downhill from there ..."
The marketing concept of tying the launch of Cub Finance to a baby Lion King was brilliant! So ... Check that "good first impressions" box!
Great! So we have all experienced great marketing, but no substance "behind the curtain" to what is being promised / promoted, i.e. greatly over promised and woefully under delivered. And the better the marketing, the greater the expectations raised. Right?
So ... How is that going?
Clearly I am not alone in thinking this launch was both brilliantly conceived and very well executed.
What a proud Papa to see his "baby' reaching a TVL of + $10M USD on Day #5!
Much has already been written about all of this. My contribution will simply be to concisely (for me š) capture my top 3 key concepts, as they have occurred to me, over the last 5 days:
- Why pretend, as WallStreetBets (in)famously did recently, that you can "win the game" against Wall Street or its equivalent in your part of the world?
- If you don't already, DYOR into the power of DEXes vs. CEXes and how incredibly fast, inexpensive (BSC is "killing" ETH ...), and efficient they are in executing your transactions. What can the argument be against "they are the future?" š¤·āāļøš¤·āāļø
- "Not your keys, not your crypto" - I cannot recommend highly enough the use of a Ledger-backed wallet in support of your participating in this incredible "new world." No, they are not cheap. Yes, they are worth every penny! In peace of mind, amongst many other things ...
Stated too strongly for some, perhaps, but given the amount of money you potentially have now (or soon will) sole responsibility for securing, to do otherwise is just foolish.
Note: All of my transactions are being executed on my Ledger-backed Metamask wallet. Works great!
Instead, build your own "Field of Dreams" and they will come! Kudos to @khaleelkazi and his LeoFinance dev team (@fbslo and @cadawg are the only ones I have seen mentioned) for the "field" they have created. "Live long and prosper!" šš
I could (and have in some cases) write a post about each of these. Perhaps another day! š
"Talk is cheap."
What did I decide to personally do about all of this? Given my experience with the WLEO launch and all of those "historic" (imagine what ancient history 5 months is in the "cryptosphere" ...) events, I went +3X of that investment into this one.
Both because of my view of the greater value represented by Cub Finance, as well as the blessing of having purchased some BNB back in 2017 which I needed to "put to work!"

Here you see the framework of my own investment into CubFinance - 3 liquidity pools (LP) and 1 "den." Unlike the WLEO LP on UniSwap, there is more than one option on how to participate. I have 1 invested in BLEO and 3 in CUB. There are others, which you are encouraged to investigate and consider.
The very specific objective you are encouraged to have is creating a new income stream for your crypto assets. That is, you are not just HODLing and waiting for their value to (hopefully) appreciate some day to allow you to reach your "freedom number."
No!
You are acting on the time-honored principle of putting your money to work making more money! Which it will do on its own 24 / 7 / 365, no matter what you are doing in the meantime!
Once these income streams are flowing, you can then choose whether to take some out here and there, "reinvest your dividends" through compounding, or whatever seems best to you!
In our crazy "new normal" post COVID world, have you been deceived to believe the "Almighty" State is going to take care of you?
You may want to seriously rethink what you are placing your trust and hopes for your future. I highly recommend you take a very close look at what the LeoFinance Community has already done, is doing, and projecting to do on its Roadmap for its (your?) future.
They have already established an enviable track record!
A Tribute to @khaleelkazi
Ever spend any time thinking about the "little things" (at the time) which subsequently become much "bigger" than you could've ever imagined? I'll start this section by referring to a decision Khal made on 2 July 2020.
To do what?
Read the post of someone who he might've noticed here and there, in the past, but very unlikely to have been on his "radar screen." Not only that, but invest further time in commenting on it. His first sentence?
"Thanks for sharing this experience, I have a lot of takeaways to work on."
The post? It was mine. He had chosen to write much more than the typical and far too common variants along the lines of "nice post" and (why do people even bother? š¤·āāļø) that's it! He scored in a decisive way with me at a critical time in my "journey" on the Hive blockchain. The rest is history and I have written about it elsewhere ...
In that post, on my first significant experience with the LeoFinance Community, I took the rare step, for illustration and documentation purposes, to show the contents of my LeoDex wallet:
I have written posts about the value of well-timed (coincidence?) words of encouragement, the importance of hard work, and the opportunity we all have for the "little people" to do well in investing in this remarkable new asset class.
For now, I will close this tribute by simply stating @khaleelkazi covers "all the bases," from what I have seen and experienced over the last 9 months. You could certainly do a lot worse, if you haven't before now, than make a conscious decision to get more involved with the LeoFinance Community, invest in some LEO tokens, some CUB tokens, and some ?...? (#ProjectBlank) tokens in the near future.
As an investor, the high points of my own fateful decision to place my trust in this man and his vision?
- The WLEO in my stake in the WLEO liquidity pool on UniSwap (the Ethereum blockchain) is greater than the LEO all can see I have entrusted to Hive Engine.
- The BLEO in my stake in the BLEO liquidity pool on CubFinance (the Binance Smart Chain) is sizable and could be greater than what I have on Hive Engine as well, but instead I have chosen to also invest heavily into the CUB token, for which there is no Hive Engine equivalent.
- On Day #5, my CUB stake is in place and growing nicely, as I continue to "reinvest my dividends" every few hours. Who knows what the future holds as far as the ultimate value of these vs. my LEO stake?
- Last, but not least, my upvote has reached a value of greater than $1.00 USD. No, no, not in HIVE. In LEO! š
It brings a smile to my face to refer to this, while looking at the image above of the value of my LeoDex wallet on 2 July 2020. The single best investment decision I have made since "jumping in" to this digital asset class in August 2017, was investing in the LeoFinance Community and its LEO token!
And, as good as that has been and as much as I have enjoyed it, I still truly believe we are only in the early stages of what can be! š¦š
"Op-Ed" Alert!
you'll want to skip right over this next section ....
In "debating" back and forth with myself on whether or not to say anything more, I have decided to "get it out" ...
Reading in the last several days the comments of many, I cannot help noticing some of those who just can't resist the temptation to "bring down" the achievements of others, to elevate their own. Which stand out? Those from various OG witnesses and their "legion of followers" who in their typical "echo chamber" fashion and driven by their need to maintain their theoretical "big-time influencer" status, have to emphasize without our Hive blockchain, none of this would've happened ...
It was be hard to overstate how much I despise that mindset. The Hive blockchain can boast many obviously very intelligent and talented programmers / developers who, in their arrogance, think they are more than that.
You're not, as the results of the last 5 years should have, by now, made abundantly clear. Savvy "coders?" Okay ... Savvy businessmen? Not even close ... Enough said ... You know (or at least you should ...) who you are. A healthy dose of humility would go a long way ...
"You" may want to give serious consideration to offering @khaleelkazi (which he may decline ...) a much more prominent role in current and future discussions about the future of our Hive blockchain than what he has been given in the past. He clearly possesses a skillset sorely lacking and desperately needed, for the long-term prospects of our Hive blockchain.

Postscript to CubFinance: DeFi for the Masses!
With my latest "POL" post now almost "in the bank," back to my real-life responsibilities, in general, and my work on a system to adequately handle the accounting š for all of these new digital asset transactions, in particular. No small task ...
But ...
If I stay focused ...
I will get there ... š
In the meantime, I will also be keeping as much of an eye as I can on my stake in this amazing "virtual world" and contributing here and there, where I can.
Who knows ...
... maybe one day I will emerge from the shadows and return to a more active role in frolicking about ...
Closing
Waking up to the total market capitalization of the "cryptosphere" reaching an ATH, the obvious and immediate next thought was " ... how is our 'slice' of it doing?" Well, as I am very happy to report that it is also at an incredible ATH, I had to set aside my real life responsibilities and write this post.
