A few weeks ago it was my birthday, and I had decided to eat something special on that date, as I did in previous years when I tried sushi for the first time. The initial idea was to make this date unforgettable, starting by eating something new or having a different culinary experience that would remain in my memory. This year, I had in mind to eat paella, a dish I love and haven't tried in years; however, the date arrived and I didn't even have enough money to buy a cake.
That day, I left without breakfast very early to do another new activity in my routine. When I left the gym hungrier than ever, I decided to have a date with myself and spend some time alone to appreciate the years I've lived and be thankful for so many blessings, so without remorse, I spent everything I had and, without thinking about anything else, I went into a bakery-restaurant called La Lusitana and ate like a queen.
There were several breakfast options, but I fell in love with this crispy croissant. It was love at first sight when I saw it through the glass and read its ingredients: ham, cheese, vegetables, and sauces. It was everything I needed, and it made my mouth water, so I went up to the first floor to enjoy a panoramic view of the square and the people passing by. As I sat there, I took several deep breaths and felt lucky. What more could I ask for on my birthday? I am alive, I am healthy, and all my loved ones are alive. I closed my eyes and surrounded myself with gratitude.
When I opened them, a young man arrived with my breakfast. He was very friendly and polite, his appearance impeccable. I remember that he had his eyebrows plucked to highlight his intense blue eyes, and he wore a little makeup, such as blush and lip gloss. I thought, wow, that's taking care of your personal image. 😅 I should imitate that good habit. Let's get back to breakfast. When I looked at the plate, I was surprised to see my croissant because it was squashed and I didn't recognize it. 🤣 I accompanied it with a soursop juice.
I ate this breakfast slowly, enjoying every flavor. It was divine, and I left happy and satisfied to start my day with a full stomach, as the saying goes, “a full stomach makes for a happy heart.” I don't remember my other meals that day, only this breakfast, so I can say that I didn't fail in my commitment to eat something different and special on this day.

Hace unas semanas fue mi cumpleaños, y había decidido comer algo especial en esa fecha, como lo hice en años anteriores cuando probé por primera vez el sushi. La idea inicial era convertir esta fecha en algo inolvidable, comenzando por comer algo nuevo o tener una experiencia culinaria diferente que quedará en mi memoria. Para este año tenía en mente comer paella, un plato que me encanta y tengo años sin probar; sin embargo, llegó la fecha y no tenía ni para comprar un pastel.
Ese día salí sin desayunar muy temprano hacer ejercicio otra actividad nueva en mi rutina, al salir del gimnasio con más hambre que nunca decidí tener una cita conmigo y pasar un momento a solas para valorar los años vividos y agradecer tantas bendiciones, así que sin remordimientos me gasté todo lo que tenía y sin pensar en otras cosas entré en una panadería - restaurante llamada la Lusitana y comí como una reina.
Había varias opciones de desayuno, pero me enamoré de este crocante croissant, fue amor a primera vista cuando lo vi, a través del cristal y leí sus ingredientes, jamón, queso, vegetales, y sus salsas, era todo lo que necesitaba e hizo agua mi boca así que subí al primer nivel a disfrutar de una vista panorámica de la plaza y de las personas al pasar. Mientras estaba sentada, respiré profundo varias veces y me sentí afortunada. ¿Qué más podía pedir en mi cumpleaños? Estoy viva, tengo salud y todos mis seres queridos están vivos, cerré mis ojos y me rodeé de gratitud.
Cuando los abrí llegó un joven con el servicio de mi desayuno. Era muy amable y educado su presentación impecable, recuerdo que tenía las cejas depiladas para resaltar sus ojos azules intensos, tenía un poco de maquillaje como rubor y brillo labial. Pensé wuaoo eso es cuidar su imagen personal. 😅 Debería imitar ese buen hábito. Volvamos al desayuno cuando miré el plato, me sorprendió ver mi croissant, porque estaba aplastado y no lo reconocía 🤣, lo acompañé con un jugo de guanábana.
Este desayuno lo comí con calma, disfrutando cada sabor, estaba divino y me fui feliz y satisfecha de empezar mi día con la barriga llena, como dice refrán barriga llena corazón contento. No recuerdo mis otras comidas del dia, solo este desayuno por lo que puedo decir que no falle a mi compromiso de comer algo diferente y especial en este dia.
