Die Zoll-Situation zwischen der EU und den USA ist in Wirklichkeit komplexer, als viele annehmen.
Auf amerikanische Autos verhängt die EU (vor Trump) einen 10% Zoll, während die USA nur 2.5% Zoll für europäische Autos einhebt. Das klingt tatsächlich unfair. Punkt für Trump. Aber es gibt Ausnahmen.
Stand 2019, erster Handelskrieg: 85% der amerikanischen Autos bekommen eine Zoll-Befreiung, wenn sie europäische Bestandteile verwenden.
Und die USA hat bereits einen höheren Zoll von 25% auf Pickups (light trucks).
Also wie man sieht, ist die Zoll-Situation bei Autos etwas komplexer und nicht so freizügig, wie ich gedacht habe. Vor Trump.
Im Schnitt sollen die ungewichteten Zölle der EU laut einer Studie (2019) im Durchschnitt sogar höher ausfallen, als die Zölle, die die USA einhebt. 5.2% vs. 3.5%. Das wäre auch ein Punkt für Trump. Zumindest von den Prozentpunkten her. Nicht Volumen.
Andererseits sind die jetzigen Zölle im Schnitt weit unter den 25%, die Trump jetzt gegen die EU verhängen will.
Was Trump genau mit den Zöllen vor hat, ist ebenfalls nicht ganz klar. In der Vergangenheit hat er Zoll-Drohungen eher als politische Waffe eingesetzt.
Ziemlich sicher ist bei den Zöllen noch nicht das letzte Wort gesprochen. Undifferenzierte, hohe Zölle auf Verbündete machen wenig Sinn und würden auch die US-Wirtschaft gefährden.

The tariff situation between the EU and the US is actually more complex than many assume.
The EU imposes a 10% tariff on American cars (before Trump), while the US only imposes a 2.5% tariff on European cars. That actually sounds unfair. Score one for Trump. But there are exceptions.
