If you have not read this post by @flauwy called The Future Of Splinterlands - 1000 Games In One it is definitely a must read! Especially if you're a Splinterlands player!!
I liked the idea of using your Splinterlands card IDs (or NFTs) in other places outside of Splinterlands.. So I wanted to share some of the ideas that I have come up with and hope to see in the future!
Here are some of the ideas!
- VR (Virtual Reality)
Imagine yourself flying on a Gold Dragon through a virtual world, and the land you’re headed to is only accessible by a level 4 Gold Dragon.. Thank God we have one.. So we are flying through the clouds with this virtual wind blowing past you, and we arrive at this land with a roar of the dragon we are welcomed. We make this trip everyday because we ferry people to this remote island, and also because most people do not have a level 4 Gold Dragon.. This is what is possible with our cards in VR!!
- AR (Augmented Reality)
Imagine walking down the street, and you get a ding on your phone.. You look to find a nearby player is sending you a battle request! You open up your screen to see a Hydra in Augmented Reality right in front of you viewable on your phone! You scan your phone up to see this Hydra towering over you! Let the battle begin!!
- Use your monsters with you in existing pvp games
Imagine playing a game like Fortnite and you are able to summon the Spirit of the Forest to transport you to the nearest forest!! Or even a Lightning Dragon to fly above you and send lightning bolts to incoming enemies!
- Splinterlands digital board games
There are so many board games these days, but let’s take a game like Monopoly and add in the ability to summon monsters that move you around the board or even grant you extra bonuses while using them! Or even like Wizards chess with Steem Monsters.. bam that could be a sick game! You could use different characters where the perimeters of the game control each role, and monsters could even have better moves at higher levels!
- Simulation games
You could input the card ID which the simulation could render basically an infinite number of outcomes depending on which card you use and what you are simulating!! Think about throwing some Monsters into The Sims, and imagine how that could change the Sims world!
- MOBA games
Send warriors from your Splinterlands deck to protect you in a League of Legends style game!
- Messenger or Video Chat apps
Imagine being able to send certain specialty messages, skins, or even upgraded functions just from using your card IDs!
- Dragon Quest style games
I have always loved dragons, and I even have an alter account called thedragonwarrior that I let my brother use.. so I really do love dragons! I am sure there could be a Dragon World that is cross platformed for dragons across multiple games online!
- A battle/tournament game
Where you can start a journey through different gym leaders and even world championships!
- Use your card IDs to unlock athletes or gear in sports games
Imagine having a Tyrus Paladium, and being able to give your football team extra armor by using this card ID.
- Racing Games
Unlock certain cars or upgrades in racing games using your card IDs!
I feel like this is getting out of hand here, but I think this kind of shows how we can use our card IDs outside of Splinterlands in hundreds if not thousands of other games and projects!

For now we can keep working to build anything and everything we can come up with for the future.
I am having a lot of fun with Splinterlands how it is now.. So either way I am happy with the current progress.
